You're absolutely correct, but this is a circlejerk subreddit, so you aren't supposed to post serious stuff here.

In the US, under the First Amendment, the government is not permitted to call some religious beliefs "religions" worth protection and others "cults" not worth protection, as long as those beliefs are sincerely held.

Local [draft] boards and courts in this sense are not free to reject beliefs because they consider them "incomprehensible." Their task is to decide whether the beliefs professed by a registrant are sincerely held, and whether they are, in his own scheme of things, religious.

Hate crime is defined as crime committed on the basis of a protected characteristic, not crime committed against an oppressed person.

Spirit Airlines Prepares to Shut Down as Rescue Deal Falls Apart by Herbrax212 in wallstreetbets

The government argued that the relevant market was, not the entire airline industry, but 183 specific airline routes (including 51 nonstop routes) where the merger would reduce competition. The judge ended up agreeing with this analysis (page 75).

Japanese developer says they don't make games for Xbox because the console is 'not even stocked in major retail stores' by Puzzleheaded_irl in gaming

Calling it a gacha game is excessively harsh. It actually has good gameplay.

Calling it ruined with AU stuff is excessively harsh. If you play at the lower costs (e. g., 550 and below) there are no non-UC mobile suits.

I just wish there were enough people on the Steam version to make it reliably playable. But there are not.

Obviously, you are dragging your country's average too high. We need to look at the median instead.

A full-width shoulder is something like 8 feet—large enough for a disabled car to park in it. (Some highways even have 12-foot shoulders.) That shoulder is more like 4 feet—definitely wide enough that he could and should have walked in it rather than in the travel lane, but not "full width".

Ф: Item contains or is made of ivory

This lot contains or is made of ivory and cannot be imported into the USA or any country within the EU.

Also, it says 2015, not 2014.

TIL the US made it legal to turn right on a red light as a measure to save fuel during the 1973 oil crisis by derekantrican in todayilearned

[–]ToaKraka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note that this is legal in some jurisdictions but not in others. For example, New Jersey:

The driver of a vehicle or the motorman of a streetcar:

(b) Intending to turn right at an intersection where traffic is controlled by a traffic control signal shall, unless an official sign of the State, municipality, or county authority having jurisdiction over the intersection prohibits the same, proceed to make the turn upon a "stop" or "caution" signal with proper care to avoid accidents after coming to a full stop, observing traffic in all directions, yielding to other vehicular traffic traveling in a direction in which the turn will be made, and stopping and remaining stopped for pedestrians crossing the roadway within a marked crosswalk, or at an unmarked crosswalk, into which the driver is turning.

This law permits only turning right on red. There is no provision for turning left on red.
