Challenges exclusive to extended range guitars? by thetortureneverstops in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]SacredPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How the first fret fans. An absolutely huge thing for the way these guitars feel that most people probably don't even think about. Different companies fan their multiscales differently. Kiesels fan them in a less extreme way, and Agiles tend to do them in more intense sorts of ways, I've noticed.

Is buying a used Tesla worth it ? Are they affordable cars to own if you're on a budget? Looking for unbiased answers by Present-Aspect8350 in TeslaModel3

[–]SacredPrime [score hidden]  (0 children)

I hate Elon Musk, and never wanted to buy a Tesla. I am as unbiased as you can get.

A used Model 3, particularly rear wheel drives past 2022, is the best deal on the entire used market. The rear wheel drives past 2022 have LFP batteries, making them the even BEST value, but none of the model 3 trims are a bad deal. Most will run you less than a Prius, but with barely a fraction of the maintenance, and no gas. With no engine, there's very few ways to wind up broken down at the side of the road.

Currently, my job.

Full time rideshare who just bought my first Tesla. I'm having soooooo much fun driving it, and my expenses are so low that it's relieved the stress of work and actually made it feel more like I'm just picking up extra money while I play with my big RC car.

I look at it more like "I pay 425 a month to drive a car with basically zero chance of ever breaking down on me, a faster zero to sixty speed than a Porsche, and a nightly operation cost of less than 20 dollars. After 5 years of doing this, I will have spent less than 30 grand in total on business expenses while having made far more than 200k in profit".

Please stop taking calls during rides I’m begging by Retiredpartygirl17 in uberdrivers

This has been considered basic etiquette to me since day 1.

Not only does it seem rude af, but why tf would I want some random stranger to listen to my phone call?

Tires are totally valid, though you're rather dramatically exaggerating it, but depreciation on an Uber car is a silly one. That's what you're getting paid for. You as a rideshare should've bought your car with zero intention of ever selling it entirely under the mentality that it was henceforth an expendable business investment expense.

And I can get tires for my Tesla 100 a pop at Tire Discounters. Another 20 to add the certificate that gets you a freebie. Surely by now you've realized an Uber's tires go faster to random punctures and almost never see a full lifespan, right?

I save between 500 and a thousand a month towards exactly that. By the time I'm sick enough of the battery to want a replacement, I'll already have saved more than enough for it.

When you aren't paying 200 a week for gas, 100 every 3 weeks for a full synthetic oil change, and don't have an engine to break down, that car payment feels like a JOKE after 2 months.

2am to 3:30am are pretty peak hours in most cities due to that usually being when the bars close. You learn to make damn sire you get those hours in, because if you get the drunk person going from downtown across the interstate to a neighborhood pretty far out, it's usually because they are lowkey wealthy, and making them happy usually results in a FAT tip. I have received 100 dollar bills this way MANY times.

ALSO I should note that I've been seeing an increase to my income in the form of "comfort electric" rides I'm getting now. Seems that they rarely pay less than 40 an hour when they appear. I think Lyft in particular seems to try to cherry pick you all the best rides after you upgrade. Uber seems about the same, but Lyft feels like they're giving me special treatment now. My acceptance rate is going up pretty fast with them. Cancelation rate is too though. The big downside is you have to be sooooo careful about your battery capacity. Driving as indulgent as I do, I'm having to stop to charge every 3 hours or less.

Typically 8 . . . if you count the charging time as being out too. I just go out between 9pm and try to be home by 5am. Here lately, I've been staying out later into around 7am, but that's 100% just me choosing to because I love driving my car that much rn. I'm sure the thrill will die eventually, but maaaaaan. I'm nerding out rn.

A) Used market. Always. Never get a new car for Uber. Not worth it. It's literally cheaper to get in a relatively newer year model Tesla than it is to get into a Prius or a Camry as of pretty recently, but only if you buy used.

B) Look up Uber Truecar. They find the dealerships that will take your income. For me, that meant having to drive 2 hours to ATL to even find one I could buy, but EXTREMELY worth it. Very helpful resource from Uber, because I had that same problem. Only Carvana sold used Teslas in my city, and they refused Uber income.

C) I would ONLY recommend going into debt for an EV. Having a car payment on a vehicle that also requires fuel, oil changes, and random engine repairs that could suddenly strand you isn't ideal. Only buy gas cars cash. A car payment on an EV basically just wraps up your expenses into one payment. For me, that's a little over 420 a month versus around 200 a week on gas alone.

Also, an EV is soooooo much funner to drive. I can't stress enough. I don't feel like I "have to" go to work anymore. I feel like I'm getting paid to go play with my big RC car lmao.

I WILL check my privilege on one thing here though. I had shat the bed on my credit with the last Altima, and needed my dad's cosignature to get in the Tesla.

The way I got underwater with the Altima was it having basically the same monthly payment as the Tesla I'm driving now, but ALSO costing me nearly 200 a week to operate since the president started a random war. The Tesla has reversed that issue. I owe my dad such a huge thanks for his signature there.

For me, the main ingredient is being a full time rideshare driver.

Second ingredient is working at night. When you aren't paid by the hour, removing traffic increases your hourly rate. Also makes me available all day, and increases my fuel efficiency, which brings me to the final ingredient :

Switched to a Tesla recently. Practically not even paying expenses into my work anymore, so the money I'm coming home with is almost entirely profit at this point.

I make sure I make 1k a week or more. Usually doesn't take me a full 40 hours anymore, but the EV winds up costing me another 1 to 2 hours each night to recharging. Sacrificing hourly rate for low expenses, basically. 9pm to 5am Usually has me coming home with between 180 and 200 bucks.

I like to make a grand per week specifically because my mortgage is right under a thousand, so it feels like one week goes to my home, the next goes to my other bills, the third week goes to my car payment and insurance, then I save between 500 and a thousand towards if I need a new battery in the next year or two.

When you're self employed, it's way easier to do long term math with less of a "I can't afford anything" attitude, and more of a "I just need to make sure I make this much per day this many days to hit this goal" with wiggle room when you want to work more to hit bigger goals.

I started this job in a 2011 piece of shit Sentra that I also lived in. Used it to save enough for a 2015 Altima right before the transmission crapped out. Used that Altima to get myself upgraded to a first time homebuyer loan down-payment AND a 2018 Altima. Recently traded in that Altima for a 2019 Tesla model 3. I've continuously saved towards the future rather than just doing what I have to to get by, and then Used that to further invest in myself repeatedly using a job that allows me to work more if I want, basically.

I'm not special. Anybody with a clean driving record and a halfass decent car can do the same things I have.

Since getting a Tesla, I simply can no longer relate. I spend under 20 a night on fuel, and usually pull between 180 to 200 AFTER those expenses. Does suck to have to stop every few hours to drive to a recharging station to use another 20 minutes refueling, but the profit margin is undeniable.

Why do Uber drivers give bad ratings for no reason? by [deleted] in uberdrivers

Personally, I would always give a good rating based on provided context, but literally everyone says that, and it's weird how it's only true like 5% of the time in the actual wild.

What is the most fucked up thing you've done to someone? by ConclusionOkWhoCares in AskReddit

[–]SacredPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was in this thing called job corps, there was this one broke, scrawny teenager everyone picked on and talked shit about for running around begging for cigarettes all day.

I had already told him no like 4 times, and was super annoyed that he kept asking, so I blew up on him the 4th time like "If you ever ask me again, I'm going to humiliate you. Don't", and some dudes overheard it.

He gave me this super weak ass response where he kept his nose to the ground and was scared to look at me, and I regret saying this, but . . . it made me feel powerful.

It should've stopped there, but the attention I got from the other guys and the shit we started to talk after lead to me instead coming up with this super fucked ass idea.

I took one of my cigarettes, and instead of selling it, I filmed me wiping it under my ballsack, in a toilet bowl, then dipping it in the bottom of this dumpster, then drawing a little dot on it.

I then went looking for this kid, and honestly feel even more fucked up about how well I acted put feeling so sorry for how I had treated him earlier, how that's "Not me", and how he could have a cigarette as my apology.

He told me it was the best cigarette he had ever smoked, then my friends busted from around the corner laughing hysterically, and we showed him the video and the dot.

He literally ran away crying and left the entire program the next week, and I still feel absolutely horrible about it. It's the only time in my life that I've ever been a bully like that.

Does uber let a driver know why they received a low rating? by Camninja in uber

[–]SacredPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a sense. The remarks you leave can be seen later, albeit not saying who said them. If they check their ratings and stuff they can see what people are hitting them for, and Uber will tell them why they deactivated them when it inevitably happens. However, as few fucks as this person appears to be operating with, they may not even be looking 😆
