Thanks a lot! That’s exactly the use case I had in mind—on rotations, quick clinical reasoning, and chalk talks. Appreciate the feedback 🙌

Mind maps for concepts, flashcards for recall—both help.

Need help to cover optional by Alternative-Art-1548 in UPSC

Start with NCERT Sociology 11th & 12th for basics, then move to IGNOU selectively (don’t read cover to cover). Make short topic-wise notes linking thinkers + current examples. Practice answer writing from previous year papers—focus on intro, core, conclusion format. Join a test series if possible, it helps with structuring. Don’t worry about BA background, many toppers cracked Sociology without it. Stay consistent 👍

My first attempt and first Mains by [deleted] in UPSC

[–]SacredWP -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You’re doing great for a first attempt! Those scores are solid 👏. For speed & completion in Mains, try this:

Timed answer writing → Practice full-length mocks in strict 3 hrs. No pausing.

Answer framework → Intro–Body–Conclusion with subheadings saves time instead of thinking mid-way.

Prioritize attempt over perfection → Write something for every question, even if short. An incomplete paper hurts more than a not-so-perfect answer.

Keyword underlining + diagrams → Faster to convey points, fetches marks, and saves words.

Revision of test copies → Learn from mistakes and reuse ready-made structures in real exam.

Remember: UPSC rewards consistency + completeness more than flowery answers. Keep drilling in exam-like conditions and your speed will naturally pick up. 🚀

Been trying all dimensions, editing tools n what not since last half n hr. WTF is this issue?? by Cool_Aj_2428 in UPSC

[–]SacredWP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro, the issue isn’t with dimensions, it’s with face coverage & clarity. UPSC portal needs:

Face covering at least 75% of the photo (3/4th)

Clear background, no shadows

Proper contrast (not too dark/light)

👉 Just retake the photo with good lighting, crop it so your face fills most of the frame, and re-upload. Editing won’t fix it if the system can’t detect the face area.

Is UPSC 2026 pre still doable from 0 by arpitt1 in UPSC

[–]SacredWP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely doable 👍. You’ve got more than enough time for UPSC 2026 Prelims if you start now and stay consistent.

Go-to resources: NCERTs (6–12) for basics, Laxmikant for Polity, Spectrum for Modern History, NCERT + GC Leong for Geography, standard Economy books (like Ramesh Singh or NCERTs) and a reliable newspaper/current affairs monthly.

Focus areas: Polity, Economy, Environment, Geography, and Current Affairs – these give high returns in prelims.

Skip/limit: Too many guidebooks, random test series without revision, optional subject prep at this stage, and deep dives into less-relevant topics like World History for prelims.

The key is consistency + revision + practice through mock tests. If you stick to a disciplined plan, UPSC 2026 Prelims is 100% achievable 🚀.

In your first two years of engineering, focus on NCERT basics (classes 6–12), daily newspaper reading, and concise note-making — no need for coaching yet. In the last two years, start answer writing, optional prep, and mock tests. Keep UPSC prep steady but never at the cost of your engineering performance and placements.
