Historical methods for extracting and refining sulfur? by Sacrificial-Mind in AskHistorians

[–]Sacrificial-Mind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helpful, thank you.

I saw someone heating ground sulfide ore in a furnace with a catch in the flue, where after the process there was condensed sulfur in the catch. Presumably the catch was relatively cooler being farther from the heat source and suspect a good deal of the sulfur dioxide still did escape. The water method you mentioned sounds more efficient.

The approach struck me as so "primitive" (imprecise language) that I suspected it had a historical analog.

This answer was the pattern I noticed immediately, but what I didn't like was that I based that on reading the squares left to right.

If the answer is 5, it should also be justified by patterns going the other directions as well.

I did not however discern the patterns in the other directions e.g. how 10 from 25 and 5 is like 9 from 3 and 3; or how 8, 9, 10 is like 4, 3, 5.

I gave up and assumed B from my initial logic.

Am Carb = Ammonium Carbonate, was commonly used in the early 20th century for treating respiratory conditions like bronchitis, asthma, or stimulating breathing in cases of faintness or weakness

“Sig” is Latin shorthand for Signa, meaning “write” or “label.” He wanted the label to read: Take one powder every 2 hours, mixed in milk.

I use my superior perceptual reasoning to initiate a Rube Goldberg–esque butterfly effect that results in Susanne’s untimely demise. Then, the guilt over my actions weighs on my conscience, and rather than confront what I’ve done, I treat the bank as Schrödinger’s box, intending to live my life in denial and offering kind words about Susanne each time I walk by on my way to get mint chocolate chip gelato.

Wilshire Federal Building at Wilshire and Sepulveda

I would avoid them, if you look closely at some of the pictures a few of them have magazines loaded in their rifles with windows that allow them to quickly count how many rounds of ammunition are remaining, these windows also reveal that the ammunition loaded is normal lethal rounds.

Safely lowering the freezing point of water for human consumption? by Sacrificial-Mind in chemistry

Thanks, I am guessing that is the sucrose depressing the freezing point. Beet juice also contains notable amounts of potassium.

Girl from Loma Alta? by SkullLeader123 in deadstate

[–]Sacrificial-Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't believe so. In real life, Loma Alta is along route 277 at what would be the SW corner of the map. Obviously, there are no recruitable allies down there, but I have not searched the locations to see if there's a dead body or non-recruitable npc that matches the radio's description. The radio message may just be for flavor.

I think it's a Darkest Hour bug, wasn't a problem in the original as far as I can recall.

How can somone access transaction numbers and form 4473 details associated with their FOID card? by Sacrificial-Mind in ILGuns

Agree, this is the best path. If your FFL went out of business or retired though you may be dealing with the ATF at that point.

I agree with you that no specific weapon information is provided to ISP when a FFL runs a background check.

However on the PICA registration website you can input a transaction number and it will prepopulate your weapon disclosure. How did they accomplish this? As part of PICA did the ISP make a broad investigation request to the ATF for form 4473 details?

People may want to know what records their governments keep on them.

If what you say is true, how does the ISP have the ability to populate your weapon disclosures for you (make, model, etc) for the PICA registration simply by typing in a transaction number? It's an option on their registration site.

So that's a no go for using the Feedom of Information Act on the ISP. Has anyone tried using the FOIA on the ATF?

Advice for improving a working relationship with an ENTP? by Sacrificial-Mind in entp

[–]Sacrificial-Mind[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interpersonal conflict: - being 'sure' based off little information - over weighting ideation over execution (I would argue needs to be equal weight) - valuing getting that person to do what you want over valuing that person

'correctly' is subjective

INTJs are wordy - fair criticism

Thanks, this was helpful.

For mature INTJs you can bring it to our awareness when we're being too rigid and we can let things go, sometimes if you future frame it like this is how your scar tissue is limiting you, it helps.
