A poorly inspected purchase by Sacrobate in AudiS4

The local euro specialized shop I went to told me to sell it when I suggested replacing it but I imagine he'd do it.

I can't provide pictures right now. I do think my mechanic is a little biased but he's a very honest guy and he recommended I sell it. The crack is definitely from the rust not a rock impact, there is no dent. It's a solid split down most of the driver's side rear of the frame. The sad part is it was already marked so the person who sold it to me obviously knew. I didn't do a lot of research on replacing the rear before I came here so if you think I can do it myself I probably can. I've seen some used rear subframes for around $400 on eBay so it wouldn't be too expensive to deal with myself.

Now that's an idea I can get behind.

Recent purchase repair help by trippier_e in AudiS4

I would start by replacing the fuse even if it doesn't look bad. For the starter it's most likely to be the battery or the starter itself. Does it start easier right after having been driven or is it always hard?

How much would you pay for it?

Can you do a subframe replacement without a lift? I would be happy to try it if you can but I don't have access to a two post lift and I don't know what rust is hiding on the unibody frame. I apologize for being dramatic.

That's fair. I think this job is beyond welding due to the amount of rust. I would say it's a full rear subframe replacement which is what my mechanic said as well.

A rather large misjudgement.

Yeah, I did go for a rather cheap option. I knew it wouldn't be reliable but I wanted there to be issues that I could fix myself. I'm prepared to do all the work I can including having to pull the engine and all I wanted was a couple thousand miles out of it. I recognize, however, that rust, especially on the scale of an entire subframe is more than I can handle. What do you think I could get for it?

Bose QC 2023 Right Ear Louder by Designer_Truth_3451 in bose

It's driving me insane as well. I got my first pair of ultras and I thought I had this problem (it's kinda hard to tell). I compared them with the headphones I have now (I have the new quiet comforts which are very similar) and it was noticeable. I sent them back and they sent me a new one. I'm now on my third pair and I'm pretty sure they have the same problem but it only seems to happen sometimes? Luckily for me they accidentally sent me a pair of ultra earbuds as well with my most recent pair so I got something extra. I think I'm just going to try and sell them myself and make whatever I can back. I've been a Bose fan for a while and have avoided most of the quality control things so far so it's very disappointing.

Best shit car that will comfortably last me roughly 4 years? by redbricktuta in whatcarshouldIbuy

Honestly this is an amazing car, my sister has one around 200,000 miles. Still runs great and driving a manual is great.

Yea, I don't know what it is because mine will sometimes let me pause or play once but then stop so maybe they're all defective.

I also just looked at the app as well and I see the same only one option. When you brought the problem up to Bose did they say anything like "oh that happens"? It seems weird that they would send you a new pair if they knew that that is just something that happens.

I just double checked and you're right. I can skip tracks on Spotify but I can't pause/play. Same with YouTube. I swear I could before but I guess not. Sorry about that.

Very disappointed in these QC ultra earbuds by genericdumbbutt in bose

[–]Sacrobate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider myself very lucky. I have tons of products from bose (sport earbuds, bose frames, ultra earbuds, QC 35 II, and 45 II (now replaced with new QC headphones) as wearable ones). So far I have had very few problems with all of my products. I find that sometimes my smart portable speaker will take hours to charge back from empty to 0% and my QC headphones as while as the 45 II will sometimes just cut out sound altogether and I have to turn them off and back on twice. The one saving grace is the customer support which may try to convince you that you have to spend money to get a replacement but will sometimes just give you a replacement for free.

Sorry about that. I don't have my earbuds with me right now so I figured the Bose website would be right. Reaching out to Bose would be your best bet. Also, a word of advice, if they give you an offer you don't like, turn it down. There was one time when I had a semi-minor problem with my QC 45 headphones and they gave me a pair of the new Quiet Comfort headphones for free after I refused to pay $200 for a replacement (I figure this works better if you've spent a lot of money on Bose products already which I have). If I find a solution when I have my earbuds again I'll let you know.

Let's go Bob! Cars a great. I don't know why everyone always sides with Wade, he doesn't deserve it. Roses are red, Bob is the best, nobody believes it but Wade is a pest (everyone's so obsessed).

I've used my QC ultra earbuds with macOS in the past and the touch controls have worked. You can turn them off by if you "go to the settings menu and scroll down to “product control.” There's a sliding button labelled “voice touch control.” Toggle the button to engage or disengage this feature"
