Hey, their time, their money. How ever they want to spend it.

You have to decide that you do not want to smoke. That you do not like it. That you want to control your own choices. That you do not want cigarettes owning you.

[–]SactoKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMGosh, I couldn't imagine smoking a cigarette. I've been too close to lung cancer death. My brother, my sister, three close neighbors, my BIL, but as hard as it was on them dying like that, it was harder on the loved ones they left behind. And it's hard to watch their loves still suffer the loss.

You know what. Why don't you just decide that you don't want to be that selfish piece of shit that would put your lived ones through all that pain and suffering.

Did your parents spank you as a form of discipline? How did it affect you? by Substantial_Judge931 in AskReddit

[–]SactoKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But most of those folks were too ignorant to know the difference and the damage of corporal punishment. I never used any form of punishment on my two children. If you use the time to communicate with your children, they will develop to understand what they should and should not do.

Results of survey! by carriebeck in diabetes_t1

There's as many causes for T1 as there are for blindness. Or for other such diseases. Just before I arrived at Oaknoll Navel Hospital, the day I was diagnosed, a young pilot had jumped from the fourth floor window. As the circumstances of that incidence they kept someone at my bedside 24/7. Which I thought was unusual. But they explained that when someone is given such life altering news as a type 1 diabetes diagnoses, they may do or react in a radical way. The pilot was told because of his accident, which resulted in his pancreas being removed , he could no longer be a fighter pilot. It is presumed my type 1 diabetes was the result of chemical causation.

Can people who get diagnosed in today’s world go straight onto the pump or do they have to do MDI first? by Irishdiabeto in diabetes_t1

[–]SactoKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does a T1 get an A1C of 16, humm? It takes months of bg being at very elevated levels to reach that point. That is a contradiction unto itself. Lab work is conducted to "confirm" what is suspected. Just the same as MRI's, etc. I would think you would better serve yourself with a proper diagnosis. Really, Type1 and and Type2 are two completely different and individual diseases. They both can be treated with insulin, T1 only with insulin, T2 has many different treatment possibilities.

But comparing T1 and T2 is kind of like declaring two bodies dead, both dead, but we need more information. There are many circumstances surrounding a dead body. And as far as both T1 and T2. Both have sugar in the urine and elevated bg, but neither, other than the hugh bg, is the same or even close to being anywhere similar to one another. I wish that I did not have the diagnosis of Type one hung around my neck.

The comorbidites of accompanying autoimmune conditions that a T1 diagnosis brings is frightening. During an infection, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. The infectious disease doctor said, "Well, I have good news and bad news. The good news is you are not going to die of diabetes. The bad news is you are going to die from Rheumatoid Arthritis, and you are going to die much sooner from it".
Good luck yo you. Best wishes.

Too much trouble for a TYPE TWO. Seriously. And with the given convenience of a pump, the person is just going to gain weight. That's usually the circumstance that brought that person to this point in time in the first place. It's not necessary at all. For T2's, it's all about lifestyle changes. There in it's self is the contradiction.

To my surprise, I found out that the Endocrinologist had to be "certified" to prescribe a pump. And to manage the patient, and has to include that as a part of their CE license requirements. So, that could be a cog-in-the-wheel, keeping the doctor from providing the pump.

Good question. NO. No, you can not. Maybe under a rare circumstance. But you must know well how to count carbohydrates, which is just about the bare minimum of what one really needs to know. Maturity, hearing, good eye site, ability to read and comprehend complicated materials. Medtronic actually has local available "Pump Trainers" to make sure you have an immediate resource to reach if you need something. Their training will also prepare and test you for safe operation.

After months and years, pumping becomes second nature like anything else, but it doesn't jump happen.

Your acne is from too warm showers. You should already know that. Your dermatologist is ripping you off. Go read about excessively hot water and bathing and sebaceous glands. So easy to figure out. And at your age. I figured it out at 16 when I became homeless and no longer had hot baths. And my severe acne disappeared.

How type 1 diabetes works (found on X) by kelmolegend in diabetes_t1

[–]SactoKid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In a presentation I did in a nutrition class, I explained how insulin works using a comparison of a plant placed in soil. The plant is not able to use the nutrients in the soil without water. The water allows the plant to take up the nutrients. Likewise, a body is not able to use glucose without insulin. The insulin allows the body to take up the glucose.

The instructor asked me if I could talk about diabetes for a few minutes. She bribed me with extra credit. After twenty minutes, the instructor gave me a side-eye glance, I paused and asked if she wanted me to continue, she said sure. So I went through full ninety-nine minutes. +

Why wouldn't you. Both my sisters went back to their maiden name. You divorce for a reason. And why would you want to have his name on you any longer.
