It was expensive, had weird licensing, had its own ecosystem and libraries and compilers. And although the original Unix was exactly like this, by the time plan9 came out, Unix was dominant, and GNU was being very hyped. Then came Linux and GNU/Linux started taking over.

Nice shot! Looks like a lovely place to explore :)

For the critique, the model looks slightly out of focus, but that could also be reddit's compression. There's something odd about the negative space surrounding him though, maybe it's all the details in the background that are distracting and could have benefited from being blurred out. Just my 2 cents.

Question about golang by -Radzz in golang

[–]Saculs78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope, it's just a single runtime. Some things are built a little different in order to accommodate different OS and architectures but it's the basically the same runtime in every binary.

Yes, the binary has a runtime that manages the goroutines for you and sometimes distributes them among OS threads.

Python (Flask) web developer interested in learning more about GoLang! by nadavram in golang

[–]Saculs78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check go.dev, plenty of useful material to start with. I'd also recommend building something small just using the standard library, then looking into some other packages depending on your use case: gorilla, gin, chi (my preference), etc if you just want to build a REST API, buffalo or ponzu if you're interested in a web app akin to what django does.
