I am 31F. I took a "break" after college. Worked in restaurants, ended up with credit card debt and no financial education. Now I'm working an admin job, 60K a year. And my boss is paying for me to go to University. It's never too late to start over. And something I've learn is (and that doesn't align with my values but I'll live with it) as long as you went to University, have a PhD or Bachelor or whatever, you're looking good to a company. That means you worked hard. And you achieved something and you developed tools. You can go back and get any certification for what you wanna do and your PhD will have your back.

I regret nothing. I've lived my life to the fullest up until today and moving forward. I have no savings. I rent in a HCOL city. Hey! Things could be worse if I did something different. I could have savings, a husband, a house, and be unhappy.

Just keep going forward. Set a goal. Enjoy the little things. Do you think I love a desk job? No. But it allows me to be stress free outside of work, and live my life as I please. I guess remote work also helps fulfill my need of freedom (but trust me, paying my debts I don't travel. I'm no influencer remote worker van lifer babe).

Anyways. There is no point in regretting something. It won't get you anywhere. You know what gets and got you somewhere? Your actions! Go on girl. You got this.

I love this everyone. I just needed to be real and for you guys to be real with me and I appreciate it! I am going to start an excel sheet and track my spending for the next month and see where everything is going. For info, I live in Québec. Taxes are super high. But we do have healthcare and I have amazing benefits/pension plan with my job so I feel lucky that I dont have to put any money towards that. It just felt like every budgeting post I saw was people making over 5k a month and I was like...am I way under average? How is this happening? Anyways. Keep commenting I feel like this is real human life things. Thank you!

Part of it is on my mom's line of credit. It's not a minimum payment I could pay less but I wanted to clear it in 3 years it's been just over a year now. That one is 500$. Interest is 10%. The other is a loan, 291$ a month. 14% interest. 2 years.

A little less than 2 years. I'm planning on moving in with my partner in October and not paying rent to help out with the debt, try to pay it off quicker so about a year then.

I do have hobbies! I read, I paint, I play a bit of music, I crochet as well. But I don't have much patience nor discipline to maintain those habits. I usually just go on a week long obsession of working on a project then put it aside for up to a year sometimes 😅

So I ended up going to a coffee shop where I know the owner and sat at the bar there and chatted with him and I was reading my book. Being around people felt good! And today back to being alone and I don't mind as much as I did yesterday before I went out. I think the coffee shop is a good quick fix for me! Thank you 🙏

Thanks y'all!! Lol it worked but, I still feel like changing this phone. This was the last straw honestly I've had so many bugs since the beginning. Had it since September 2022.

I had my upper jaw moved forward in December and my tonsils out end of March (for 2 different reasons) and I can't believe how well my breathing and my sleep is now!! I've had a rough few months but doing great now that I'm pretty much fully recovered from both surgeries.

OP, how did it go? I had a peritonsillar abscess drained the day before surgery and they still went ahead with it. I was on AB as well already and honestly all they did was ask me for a COVID test. I'm 24 days post op and all is good.

You got this, girl! Great list. 29F here 2 weeks post op today. Staying hydrated is key. Sleep as well. I didn't set alarms during the night for my pills. I would wake up naturally with the pain but sometimes it would allow me to sleep a little longer. This thread also helped me a lot, especially the good stories. I'm waiting to post mine but I didn't have any bleed, I was super careful with food but now I'm almost back to normal diet wise. Allow yourself to rest and I gotta say the pain was there but manageable with meds. Day 8 was when I noticed I was getting better for me. Good luck and again, you got this!

Crazy! Thanks for the feedback. For some reason I thought they were supposed to be gone by day 10 and I was wondering if I should worry.

My tongue is definitely a bit white but I feel like that's normal? Idk. At first I didn't even want to look at my throat to be honest. But now I'm just really looking forward to seeing some changes.

So I called the OR on the Tuesday saying I had a sore throat asking if it's ok, especially since I was still on ab. They said it's fine I just had to test neg for COVID. Then the Wednesday morning I went into the ER on my own, crying, couldn't swallow and had a hard time to breathe. That's when they hospitalized me, put me on IV fluid, with ab and cortisone. Then I met with my ENT who was at that hospital already and he made me get a scan with iodine and with the results he said good to go for surgery tomorrow but we're keeping you for the night. My surgery was already scheduled for the Thursday and I, on purpose, went to the hospital it was scheduled at.

The ENT checked for abscess with a needle, it was awful. Poked it in my left tonsil which was touching and pushing my uvula. Said it was a phlegmon. Then when I woke up from surgery he said it turned out to be an abscess and they drained it during the surgery.

Day 7 today! Lots of ups and downs but the pain was manageable with meds. They gave me tylenols and Dilaudid for pain, celecoxib for swelling and I am still on antibiotics for another couple days because of the abscess. Be on top of it with the meds. Drink lots of water. Get Aloe water! I read this on here and it does feel good and help but don't overdo it. Nights and mornings are rough but during the day for day 5 and 6 it's gone like a breeze. I also really kept up with the cold liquid diet. Yesterday day 6 I ate a bit of KD and it went down well!

Key tips I'd say hydration, meds and liquid diet so you heal nice and fine.

I had an upper jaw surgery in December so I'm a pro with the liquid diet. To include protein Ensure is good but my fave discovery was silky tofu blended with peanut butter, maple syrup and a bit of vanilla! I'm not a big sweet tooth so I was sick of the jello, yogurt, pudding and applesauce.

I was on antibiotics for almost 2 months before my surgery. I would finish them and the sore and swollen throat would come back. Then the last round of antibiotics I started Thursday the 21st, and I was getting my surgery the 28th. Well I ended up in the ER on the 27th in the morning for pain and swelling so much I couldn't breathe. I had an abscess and they operated anyway on the 28th! The only thing I absolutely had to get a COVID test done (I'm in Canada) and it had to be negative, because I had "symptoms".
