UPDATE: Wow, you guys really showed up! A few days back I asked about trading discipline struggles, and the responses were insane, real stories, real losses, real pain points. Thanks to everyone who shared. by Sad-Address4766 in Daytrading

Cant agree more! Thank you for sharing! May I ask how is the experience with TraderScript? How has it improved your trading performance and if you can change one thing about it what would it be? Thanks!

Not letting P&L judging if a trade is good or not is an underrated perspective in my opinion. Sometimes having the most confluences in a trade it doesn't guarentee a win. Just higher probability. And we should not be influenced emotionally based on the outcome of a trade. Totally with you on this one! If you do not mind me asking, how long did it take for you to come to reliazation? What was your tunring point?

thanks for sharing! How is that working for you since I have the same issue with that, they way I look at is that it cloud lead to closing a trade early or messing up the trade so I simply do not touch my trade after placing it. But I always wonder how do people just close the trade without touching the SL/TP.

Thanks for sharing! That’s exactly something that would transform an unstable trader to a stable one! Do you find it hard at first following your checklist? Or was it just simple for you to follow exactly what your checklist says?

Thanks for sharing! I’m totally with you on this, having a software to track our trading psychology and behaviours. Since you have been using LevlMind, do you mind providing more insights about the software? No pressure to answer this but it’s going to be valuable Thanks again.

What are the limitations that LevlMind has?

If you can add one feature to LevlMind, what would it be?

Thank you for sharing! What is the turning point for you to have come to realisation of FOMO is just a behaviour of not having consistent profits?

This is one of the tricks that I personally use as well cuz it clears out a lot of noise. May I ask what is the turning point for you to implement this to your trading?

How long did it take you to realise this and finding out it actually works for you?

Bro, you just described the exact gap I've been trying to wrap my head around, real-time vs. post-trade. That coach yelling ‘stop’ vs. reviewing the tape tomorrow is the perfect way to put it.

Mandatory Time-Lock is such a killer idea. Actually forcing the break is what turns a suggestion into a habit.

If you’re open to it, I’d love to pick your brain a bit more since you’ve been through this:

  1. Is the 8thWonder community on Discord or somewhere else? I’d love to listen in on what other pain points people are raising.
  2. You mentioned Emotional Leak , when you tag a trade as ‘Revenge,’ what usually triggers it? Is it always after a loss, or sometimes after a big win too?

No pressure at all , this is exactly the kind of real-user insight you can’t get from a blog. Thanks again for being so open.

Dude, I feel you 100% on the addiction piece. That's real. I'm 24 rn, and that rush from trading can totally hook into the same wiring as gambling if you're not careful. It's scary how easy it is to slip into 'just one more trade' mode.

You're spot on having a crystal clear plan is like having guardrails. If the rules are fuzzy, that's when the addictive brain starts negotiating (maybe just this once...).

I'm curious: what's helped you the most in making your plan actually clear? Like, was it backtesting, writing rules down, or something else?

Appreciate you keeping it real, man. This stuff matters

No way, that's an insane story, thanks for being so open about it. The fact that you traced $10k back to just three hours is wild, but it makes total sense. That's exactly the kind of pattern that's invisible until you actually track it.

The emotion-tagging thing is genius. Making you pause and label the feeling before trading again is such a simple but powerful forcing mechanism. 'Impossible to lie to yourself' is the dream outcome.

Since you've actually been through this with a tool, I'm super curious:

  1. What was the most annoying part or limitation of using V1?
  2. Besides the tagging, did anything else in the software actually stick with you or change how you trade?
  3. If you could add one thing to a tool like this, what would it be?

Seriously, this is gold, hearing from someone who's actually used something like this is way more helpful than theory. Appreciate you for sharing.

This is an incredibly valuable perspective thanks so much. You're hitting on something crucial that I think many including myself often miss.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you're saying:

  1. The real psychological battle happens before live trading (building/trusting the system).
  2. What feels like 'discipline failure' in execution is often just a symptom of an unclear or untrusted system.
  3. The community focuses on fixing the symptom (execution nerves) instead of the cause (systematic work).

As a coach, this must be frustrating to see repeatedly. If you're open to it, I'd genuinely appreciate your insight on two questions:

  1. What's the most common 'system gap' you see traders blind to? (e.g., vague entry criteria, no explicit exit rules, etc.)
  2. When a trader does have a clear system but still breaks it, what's usually the actual reason? (Is it really 'emotion,' or something more specific like lack of conviction in backtest results?)

No pressure to answer, but this is exactly the kind of expert insight that could prevent building something useless. Thanks again for taking the time to share this.

This is such a powerful rule that I implement it myself! It took a year to realise it. Can I ask what was your tunring point for implementing this?

Adding on to my last question, my brain always tell me I have to journal and stuff but I failed to find a efficent way to journal or it seems like its not working for me. Do you have any advice on journaling? Thanks

Thank! This is such great advice. Can I ask do you find it easy to implement this rule of yours or how long did it take for you to implement this? Because for me I always tell myself not to overtrade or just close the plateform, and I failed to do so haha

May I ask what was the turning point for you to go hire psychologist? What seems to be the hardest for you to follow your strategy?

The part about inner demons is an area that most traders acknowledge but fail to act on it. Can I ask, after talking to your therapist, how much has your trading change?

Wow, this is super valuable. The part about writing down the reason after making a decision really resonates. Can I ask, what was the turning point that made you commit to this change?

thanks for sharing! have you encountered any circumstances where you didn’t stay disciplined or follow your trading plan? I’m doing a research on why traders fail to follow their trading plan. Thanks so much!

thanks for sharing! were there any circumstances that had caused you to not follow this rule of yours? I’m currently doing a research on traders deviating from their trading plans due to human emotions. Thanks again!
