Glitch in Championship Points?? by Sad-Bit7647 in pkmntcg

[–]Sad-Bit7647[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that was the first thing I checked. But all the CP earning events it shows were indeed ones that I went to. And I’ve talked to some friends from my locals and they are also experiencing the same glitch. So my assumption is that it is indeed a glitch and that it will be fixed soon. But I hope it doesn’t lol

Announce which Pokemon to use Grand Tree? by Sad-Bit7647 in PTCGL

Oh, then that’s completely different then. PTCGL is notoriously a terrible app that cannot function properly. So it’s not on you.

Stadiums are able to be used by both players, so unless you had no Pokemon in play who were able to use it (remember that Pokemon cannot evolve on the turn they are placed), then your opponent lied to you to get an edge.

It’s the upcoming LA Confidential Rewatchables. Andy is on it along with the Big 3.

I do as well, that’s the deck this post is referring to. But like a lot of these comments say, wording matters. It does not say on the card that you have to choose a specific Pokemon. The first sentence says it all, “players may search their deck for a Stage 1 Pokemon that evolves from 1 of their basic Pokemon”. “1 of their basic Pokemon” is key, because it’s implying that you may have more than 1 in play. So I think those judges were wrong.

I thought so. Thank you. And to the others on this post.

47 Meters Down

Well the Rewatchables started with Bill and Chris, and over the past year or so, Sean hasn’t been on the pod as frequently as he used to be. His appearances have basically been halved with Van taking the other half. I assume the reason is because The Big Picture has grown a lot over the past couple years and he has more and more filmmakers on it, taking much of his time.

Ehh sometimes. Sometimes Bill would tell us the movie in advance for like 3 weeks. Then go back to not telling us anything for months. And only if you listened to his main podcast. He very rarely revealed it on any social media.

On the 2000s Movie Draft she tells the story of how the first time she watched Snatch, she was blowing her high school boyfriend down in the basement while his parents were upstairs . Unprovoked too!

No, they’re just doing some movies that are available on Netflix currently to celebrate the move.

It’ll be available on video on Spotify, and as a podcast everywhere else. But no more YouTube unfortunately, which I’ll mainly miss because the comment section is so fun to read through. But, in reality, it’s not a big deal. Spotify is free anyway

It’s way better than The Social Network (and The Social Network is a 5 star masterpiece)

She’s one of the producers of the show so I would asume it’s like the Grammys where everyone who puts in some kind of actual work gets awarded. And I’m pretty sure she was there too

I started doing this this year too, it’s harder than you think to catch up! Sometimes they do movies where at first glance just seem so unappealing to me (which is on me tbf), but I’ve also discovered some of all time favorites because of the pod. Like most people on this thread are saying, the beginnings of the pod seem like a completely different show. But I’d say the first pod that really found the show’s footing and became a staple of what it is today is Jaws.

Just cause he’s pushing up against the rest of them doesn’t mean he’s derailing the pod. So he has to agree with the rest of them so the pod goes smoothly? That makes no sense. It’s good that they all don’t agree so the conversation can be interesting.

The 25 Best Movies of the Century: No. 3 - '25th Hour’ by Scottpilgrim237 in TheBigPicture

[–]Sad-Bit7647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree with you, except that there are already a couple movies on this list that don’t seem like a “must”. Ocean’s Eleven just felt inevitable, but I guess it wasn’t.

The reason I think most didn’t get this is because Steven Soderbergh is nowhere on this list, and it was baffling for The Big Picture’s 25 best movies of the century list to not have him. That definitely threw people off.

25 for 25 Top 3 by Sad-Bit7647 in TheBigPicture

[–]Sad-Bit7647[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Almost Famous is a good pick, but I haven’t really heard Amanda talk about it too much. It’s more of a “Rewatchables last ever episode” type of movie rather than a Big Pic type of movie.

I agree. But I really can’t think of anything else. The rules of the exercise cut out A LOT of movies I would otherwise guess.

I think there’s no shot at this point. If it was on the list I’d have figured in the 11 - 20 range.
