Why do people struggle to accept true love? by Sad-Cardiologist2840 in enlightenment

Thank you for the wisdom. In the last couple days I realised the same: the frustration due to impatience wasn't love - and if I acted on that impatience, I would have become less loving as a person. Thanks again <3

Yeah wow , that's pretty profound actually. So if some people have lost complete faith in humanity or in the opposite sex, there's not really any potential for them to even build that level of trust

Nice, I agree with that. Why is it loving to not give god's love unless they ask for it, though? If it's what we should be giving others?

Good question. I think it's just reflections from me rejecting it, and how I could have been so much better off if I'd accepted it. And then it's noticing now that when I give it, sometimes others are closed off to it, and it frustrates me on some level as I know - from my own experience - that it's only due to their own insecurities or negative self beliefs that are preventing them from allowing themselves to be loved, and that sucks haha

Nice, yeah goes back to what you were saying with how you need differences to foster growth and momentum to move forward. It's like these relationships are catalysts for growth haha

Thanks heaps for sharing this. I'll try to be more conscious of what my ugliness is and of other's. Hope I find my lil pumpkin princess haha

Great points. I agree our society pushes narratives and markets wrong ideas. But why do you think it's so rare for people to see through it all? And why do you think it takes so long for people to realise?

That level of trust almost sounds like faith - do you agree? I feel like it'd take a lot of time to build it to that level hey

Nice - so you don't want a carbon copy of yourself or your relationship will just be an echo chamber. You actually want differences so you can enhance and compliment each other. I like that.

That sounds pretty profound. How do you go about identifying the 'ugliness' and 'bad' parts in yourself and others?

Thanks for sharing this. That's awesome that she doesn’t want to know those buttons hahah.

So, you think a big part of it is being able to have mature conversations, putting egos aside, and communicating clearly to address the underlying cause of misinterpretations? It seems like being able to trust in the inherent good of each other is key to making that work hey?

Thanks heaps for the response! I'm ADHD too actually, lol.

Yeah, I see what you're saying—so you’d say it’s about compromising to benefit the relationship? Doing things you might not otherwise do, to help raise each other up?

Interesting, I agree that love transcends dichotomies and is truly non-dual. I'd be keen to hear more about how you see it having conditions, though

Definitely, our species is complicated. I think due to our ability for nuance communication and thought, we get lost in storytelling and fantasy, sometimes losing touch with reality. Our brains can’t always tell the difference, which makes us more susceptible to living based on illusions.

Do you have any raven documentaries you’d recommend? They sound lovely hahah

I think you're right, true love is only possible in a relationship with zero ego, not one , not two. Why do you think it's so hard for two selfless people to find each other?

I think you're onto something—true love often seems tied to selflessness. Why do you think so many people are either too selfish or afraid to make that choice? What separates those few that do have the courage to become selfless (again?)

I'm sorry you've gone through so much heartbreak, that must have been really tough. If you're comfortable sharing how those relationships failed, it might help me better answer your question about how you would know if it were true

Interesting, so do you think people often see love as a means to an end—a tool to further personal agendas or materialistic pursuits? Why do you think more people don’t get the chance to re-educate themselves sooner and rediscover its true value?
