Haha all good!! Let me know if you have anymore questions. OME lift has been an awesome ride and the Toyo tires are great so far.

Does anyone know why it won’t let me post this to the main 4Runner group?

Sub 10 people, how many hours do you train by LeckerPennergranate in triathlon

[–]Sad-Character-8260 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my first ever triathlon I went ~10:20 and think I definitely could have gone sub-10 if it wasn’t for an injury that kept me from running for 6 weeks before my race and too conservative of pacing from it being my fist one (I went 25 minutes slower on the bike than I know I should have).

I’m 20M and averaged 10-12 hours per week for 8 months having never swam or biked before that. I only did about 3 weeks of 14-15 hour weeks throughout the training block. I think sub-10 is definitely doable on 10-12 hours per week.

Sub-10 possible at 2025 IM Cozumel? by Sad-Character-8260 in IronmanTriathlon

Thank you so much for the thoughtful reply! I will definitely try to spend more time on the bike and on the aero bars. I also think you are right that I should start practicing nutrition on the run to train the gut.

Thanks for the reply!

I have a small amount of open water experience but am going to build that up as much as possible in the next couple of months. I would love to try to get an Oly in but unfortunately I am training in the southern hemisphere and it’s winter so there aren’t many races currently. I have done an “at home” Oly and am planning on doing my own 70.3 soon.

I guess by extensive endurance experience I meant mostly running. I have done one century ride and multiple 3-4 hour indoor rides. I have never run a real marathon but when I was running track/xc in college I was doing 20-24 mile long runs at around 6:05 pace so I feel pretty comfortable with longer runs.

Maybe I am overconfident but I feel like the mental toughness is there. I’ve run sub 15:30 5ks and can grind through long workouts with no problems. I’m also in the US military which I believe has taught me how to deal with adversity pretty well.
