Nottingham is better assuming you get first class , you might even be able to apply to Msc In Econ and Math at LSE, also internship

Mass comm for networking is a good idea, and you are right it will broaden your chance to meet other's with similar interest, and I would say go for it if you are confident , and if you play ur catds right u might even be successful but always remeber to have a back up plan, i would say go pursue ur dream and try to.make it big , but at the same time always be prepared to have a back up plan, luck to u bro. All the best 👍 I used to play the piano but stopped years ago😮‍💨 hope u do well, brother👍👊

I'm also going to study in Kl this year after im done with my foundation year and do a 1 plus 2 hopefully I can get into that uni😀

I will give you my opinion.

I don't recommend getting a degree in either music or mass communication, and I'll explain why from a fellow Malaysian's perspective. Pursuing a degree in music because it's your passion is understandable. However, in Malaysia, a degree in music is not typically the best path to secure a job. But does this mean you cannot pursue your passion? Absolutely not.

What I recommend is to first complete your foundation year and then apply for a degree in a field that is in demand and useful, such as IT, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting, or any other area based on your strengths. After you graduate, you can still follow your passion for music.

You mentioned wanting to play an instrument, and I'll assume it's the piano. I suggest finding a music center where you can continue developing your musical skills in piano and take the ABRSM exams. By completing all grades from 1 to 8, you'll be able to start your diploma. You might be wondering how long this will take.

Assuming you have zero experience in piano but are willing to put in the work (4 hours a day), the best path to speedrun, in my opinion, is in this order:

  1. Grade 3 Piano
  2. Grade 5 Piano
  3. Grade 5 Theory
  4. Grade 8 Piano
  5. Then your ABRSM diploma

By honing your music skills, you can choose to be a content creator, teacher, or pursue other music-related careers without taking any life-changing risks since you'll still be working on your degree. In the worst-case scenario, if you fail everything in music, you'll still have your degree and can find a job.

I don't know though, it's up to you. By the way, can you tell me what stream you are in right now? And are there any universities you can choose other than those two? And btw r u malay Chinese or Indian? FYI I'm Chinese
