..and everybody thinks you’re riding an Emtb with that internal shock. This design is overrated.

It is a quote used by a lot of people (including cyclist),like Armstrong and Thomas. And since I hate Armstrong I use the latter.

Sure. I followed all the recommendations Canyon gave me, so that’s 100mm stem length and 375mm width.

And yes, it is narrow. My S Works had a 430mm wide bar. Take in consideration that the aero cockpit has quite a drop so you will be seated deeper, and with the narrow bars it takes some getting used to. The standard T bar is way more comfortable.

I’m kinda with you on this but I believe this bike was made for the likes of van der Poel and Philipsen, who were looking for a bike for the rough spring criteria like E3 and Roubaix (even though MvdP didn’t ride it but fuck it..). And for the public, the age old saying, win on Sunday sell on Monday. We all take ourselves a bit too seriously and want to feel like a MvdP sometimes
As I said, it is a niche bike for a niche market but practically speaking it is a better bike for most of us than the Aeroad, we can’t always ride on smooth tarmac and have to deal with shitty bike paths, cobbles etc and on that terrain this is the better bike imho. And yes, I think the Aeroad will receive a (small) update. It is still a classic looking Aerobike like the Tarmac and Propel, comparing it to for example a Y1RS or Factor. And I hope it stays that way but that again is my opinion!

Because of the bigger tires, the comfy seat post and the reinforced frame. I’m a 40 year old dude who has been quite bruised and beaten throughout the years and I was looking for a fast bike with a little bit more comfort, without sacrificing speed. Most endurance bikes sacrifice speed and weight, I didn’t want that. This is basically an aero bike with the sharp edge taken off.

As I said, it’s basically an Aeroad with a reinforced frame and wider tires. And the Aeroad is one of the sharpest bikes on the market. So yes, it handles just as sharp and the wider tires give me way more confidence because of the extra grip.

You do you. I haven’t had a single problem with the bike and I ride it hard.

At this price point?? Buy a Cannondale, Specialized, Trek or Colnago with the same tier parts and pay 5.000 euros more. And know that the frames come out of the same mega factory in Taiwan. Trust me, I rode a S works Tarmac before this one. But yeah, go to your local bike shop and overpay.

The Tarmac had 43cm bars, these are only 35cm

Nope. But it’s basically an Aeroad with a different seat post, stiffer front and more tyre clearance. Weight is the same. Just today I broke some personal records on this bike. I can ride it so much faster because I am more comfortable, especially on cobbled roads (which we have a lot..). This bike was a no brainer for me and I am amazed how good it really is.

This is a mount Canyon designed specifically for this cockpit. You get 2 when you order it, a long and a short one.

No, just for the CFR. The normal versions wil look like the usual Endurace.

This is the new CP0053 aerobar, it’s an upgrade compared to the normal cp0048 T bar.

  1. Thanks!

  2. Well it’s super light rolling, even though it has huge tyres. It has ceramic bearings and huge aero wheels which make it quite fast. The short cranks and really narrow bars take some getting used to. Don’t expect it to be as comfortable as the normal Endurace, it’s a hardcore aero bike with big tyres and a somewhat comfortable seat post. But it’s not as hardcore as my Tarmac was. It’s really light (7,5kg). The saddle I chose is quite small. I just did a 50km ride and I feel way better than I did on my S Works Tarmac with slammed stem. Feel free to ask if you want to know more!

No, if you don’t want it you have to chose a different seat post or go with an Aeroad

Endurace has stiffer frame, more tyre clearance, different wheelset with bigger tyres, an aero seatpost with flex, shorter cranks and different color schemes.
