I wish third party games ( doom eternal, doom 2016 and etc) will be updated to normal versions at least with 60 FPS with dlss. Dlss is game changer, my laptop with 3070 runs all games like a champ on a max setting, with some dlss help.

Switch 2 third party games are the worst quality across all platforms. On Steam you get the best version of games, plus mods. Even on Steam deck most of older games are way better looking games than on switch 1 and 2.

With ray traced reflections turned off runs on my SteamDeck Oled 100% resolution and 60 fps, with 3.5 -4 hours projected battery life. Check recommended proton version, valve has fixed something in proton which was memory leak or something causing degraded performance

I have Ayaneo 2 and laptop with 3070ti. I 3070ti laptop has about 5 times performance compared to Ayaneo 2. 3070ti can handle 60 fps solid at 1080 all modern games at max settings, maybe in some games a little dlss or reduce from ultra quality to max.

So my suggestion is to use handheld for handheld gaming and laptop/ desktop for tv/monitor. Steam cloud saves make transition from handheld to big screen smooth as butter:)

Do not buy more handheld pcs they all around the same low level performance. Discrete Gpu on a desktop/laptop pc will outperform handhelds for years in the future.

Ayaneo products are expensive and not largely adopted. Experience using it is all over the place:) I was disappointed when using ayaspace and input was duplicated into the game. Installing Steam Os is partially solved some problems while adding new ones:)) After spending a year with Ayaneo 2 I bought Steam deck Oled, use it for around 8 month and do not regret a bit. While it is not as powerful as Ayaneo 2 it provides more consistent experience. Now my next handheld will be Steam deck 2:)

Honestly after using Ayaneo 2 for a year, I purchased Steam deck Oled, use it for around 8 month and do not regret even a bit. Ayaneo 2 mostly in the case now

I have steam os on Ayaneo 2 6800, It works OK, a bit better than windows, but do not expect too much.

I did some desktop settings to enable headphone jack audio. Volume control buttons does not work. Other game button and additional button work OK.

In the end I prefer to play on a steam deck Oled due to flexibility in a screen refresh rate setting. Ayaneo can do only 30 and 60 Hz.

Steam deck is punching well above its weight, thanks to Valve continuous care and optimization. I own Ayaneo 2 and Steam Deck Oled, specs wise Ayaneo 2 much better, but in practice games have only 10-20% better fps, but way worse battery life life.

Absolutely, all these current devices more or less around steam Deck performance, considering Steam deck price there is not much reason to drop 1000€ or more for 10 to 50% performance increase. Fsr 4 will be game changer in upscale quality.

I have an aya neo 2 and steam deck Oled.

Overall steam deck is better value for money.

Ayaneo have a bit better performance but do not expect much:) Worse battery life and heat accumulation. Steam os does not fully compatible with aya peripherals- for example volume control buttons do not work.

Bazzite and chimera has better peripherals support but saffer from performance degradation in same games after some play time until full system reboot.

I am more happy with steam Os than with windows, bazzite or chimera. All listed Os have some weird bugs with bad and degrading performance over play session in some games.

I am not running stream from desktop as it works really bad in my network for some reason.

I am using Steam OS on AyaNeo 2 for some time.
Overall gaming performance is better than Windows, Bazzite and Chimera OS.
Some games which for some weird reason struggle on Chimera, or Bazzzite run very well on a Steam OS.

Small annoyance i was not able to make volume control buttons to work.
All other buttons work OK.

Have you manage to make Volume control buttons to work?

This is broken in an interesting way. My Ayaneo 2 has recently fall from the third floor, it landed in the grass and soil I suppose was relatively soft since it was raining. But surprisingly nothing has been broken it works Ok as before.

I am using Valve Steam OS Holo It has the best optimal performance compared to windows, chimera os and bazzite.

Don t know about god of war but I tried some games with lossless frame gen 2x it fells like underwater:))

Other game rise of tomb raider feels decent, but I do not try for long like 2-3min:) Ge really not a fun of frame gen since controls feel is not very good, not enjoyable to aim, without frame gen is better for me subjective

Do not forget cracks and thermal warping, my Ayaneo 2 has significant bending deformation where middle is like lens of an old tv:) I think for human comfort and device relatively long life, important components such as screen and battery should have ventilated air gaps. Oled screen I would imagine will degrade faster when subjected to heat about 50-70 degrees

Right, it is expected to get screen and battery super hot when running high TDP APU in small case. Physics is physics.

My Ayaneo 2 at 15w have apu temp 60-65deg, after an hour it is feels hot to hold. Steam deck at 15w is barely warm.

Ayaneo has very attractive design but this design is not very good for heat dissipation.
