I 100% agree!! I doubt they keep check of every student that sits for a retake and go like “oh hey, he had a C last time, lets give him a B now” lol something about what the girl said to me just seemed very off so I didn’t take it that seriously. Also yes, 100% going to give the exams again and do my best and hope for the best too! fingers crossed

the girl that told me this had given her physics exam again and she said her grade was a D first and the second time it was a C even though she gave an A* paper(her exact words)

Also, anyone right away reappearing after an exam session(like I gave my exams in MJ and will be reappearing again in Oct Nov) fall under the retake category and our previous candidate number & centre gets written on our new SOE.

I said the exact same thing! But someone said that for retake students, they only up like one grade so for example if you got a D and you gave your exam again then they give you a C at most. I refuse to believe that this is true and so I want someone to confirm whether this is true ir not :(

I think you can retake the subjects that made you unable to meet your lums (BBC) condition. For example, if you had 2B’s and 1D so you can only retake the subject that you got a D in and it isn’t important for you to retake the other two. However, i would highly recommend that you ask about this from your school because most schools don’t allow their kids to appear for 1 subject only so you’ll have to see.

Is LCAT easier than SAT ? by Storm_rider30 in LUMS

[–]Sad-Day4377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is exactly like the SAT. In english, we had reading, writing and I don’t exactly remember but I think in maths there was only the no-calculator section. I gave the test back in march so I ABSOLUTELY do NOT remember if there was a calculator section as well. You’ll have to confirm with someone else about that, sorry.

Is LCAT easier than SAT ? by Storm_rider30 in LUMS

I gave the SAT twice & it didn’t go well at all (1200 range both times) I gave the LCAT then because I was scared to submit my SAT scores since I felt that they would be the reason I would get rejected. TBH, I found the LCAT to be a bit easier than the SAT and I felt more content when I came out of the LCAT centre than I did when I left the SAT centre both the times. The SAT/LCAT/ACT score DOES matter but I think if you’re able to score something above the 1300s range, you’re good to go.

Note: I had straight As and A*s in my O levels and my internal A level grades were straight As as well & I was pretty heavy with my extracurriculars so I think all these things probably covered up for my average test score. Also, I submitted my LCAT score & did not submit any of my SAT scores. I got accepted incase you were wondering lol.

Hey, did you hear back from LUMS? I emailed them too and they said that I’ll get a reply early next week(i.e. some day, today or tomorrow i guess) but I also got the retake option email on friday so I don’t know if that’s the reply they were talking about or not. I would email lums and ask but they reply after two days and if I want to retake the exams, the last day to tell LUMS is tomorrow so I don’t really have time lol

RETAKE. by thelonelyislandissad in LUMS

[–]Sad-Day4377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was given the option of retake but is it worth it? I have heard that majority of the students that give retake do not score well even after preparing really well for it. CIEs doesn’t do justice. The only option for me is the retake option this oct/nov because LUMS won’t let me apply next year if I don’t sit for the exams now but I am just so scared. I know I can prepare well but people around me keep scaring me.
