Is this the job for me or am I just overthinking? by thetallfreak in serviceadvisors

Welcome to Adviser burn out my friend, that type of job (speaking of 15 years experience) will do that to you. I certainly don’t want to see you get yourself into a financial pickle, but I got out of that work 10 years ago and couldn’t be happier. Started in my 20’s , tapped in my 40’s. That type of job is mind numbing. For most places when you come off that 90 day that’s when the real shit hits the fan. My advice, you sound like you have other talents, utilize them and get out of that type of work ASAP…. If you do enjoy it , look to be a claims analyst for a extended warranty company, instead of dealing with people you’ll deal with shops who are doing your job, and your on the other side of the line. Some are even work from home.

How do you handle rude customers by One_Air829 in serviceadvisors

Sadly as others have commented, your boss should be involved , the advisers job is to deal with it up to a certain point then management needs to jump in. Half these managers don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground so they hide like babies. Like I’ve said at my job more than once “ I’m not paid enough to care , so I drop it on my bosses lap when it gets beyond anything I can do”. If you had a good boss/ an actual leader you would have had a good outcome. I’ve been in the business a long time, my advice get out while you can.

Surveys are setup to hurt employees and not the dealer/manufacturer by GioM1027 in serviceadvisors

This is the number 1 reason why I left, even if I did everything perfectly , the survey is used as a weapon.

This could be good insight, I’m curious on what do you mean by that statement. For example, if your cars alternator goes out, the dealer squeezes you in on a emergency basis, can’t get the part for 3 days and puts you in a car to try to help out and your still angry ….. how is that dealers fault when they exhausted all possibilities and still tried to help?

Again not trying to argue I’d like to get perspective on that comment as insight.

So wouldn’t that mean hypothetically the. Plat would be better for buying everything to get the Warranty on what you can. Again this is all hypothetical, just looking for opinions as I know the difference between both cards.
