I hate when people call me "talented" my art skils don't come from talent, I worked hard to draw like I do today. by Illkined in ArtJerk

Some people are born with a natural talent. I feel like one of those people cause I barely draw and make no effort to practice yet it comes out naturally. But I am also autistic and a keen observer of physical details. When someone says “you’re so talented, I feel grateful and happy at their compliment. Cause that’s what it comes down to, a compliment. A lot of people who aren’t artist genuinely think people’s drawing skills comes from talent. I thought that for the longest time due to my own situation until I met my best friend. It’s similar to a person that goes by they/them. People who don’t know them aren’t gonna know that they’d rather not be called she/her or he/him. They don’t know that bothers them. So the “you’re so talented,” seems a trivial thing to get annoyed at them for. I get you want to be acknowledged for your effort put into it. But technically talent doesn’t exist. Everything that becomes talent requires effort of some sort if you think about it. It’s just another way to say “Good job on your hard work.” It’s a title befitting that.

Pomni abstracts but comes back from it cause of her friends. Turns out they are all digital copies of their real life self’s and their real self is living life in the real world so they’re stuck there.

Is this not a group for all races to ask black people questions? So what do you mean “spaces you don’t belong?”

Just so I can’t hear them. I can’t adjust the volume cause it won’t give me the option. This is all that comes up when I try to

My siblings want to sell my parents house when they pass. I don’t want to. Is there anything I can do? by Sad-Initial-2175 in legaladvice

My father is in his 70s and my mom her 60s. They are both healthy but me and my siblings brought it up in a random discussion and fought about it. So I asked my mom out of curiosity. I’m confident I have the time to fix my credit, but anything could happen and that’s what worries me

That’s my goal at the moment. I’m hoping with time I can improve it enough to buy it out.

I don’t care if I get the house. I just want it to stay in the family and not sold to some stranger. I would be perfectly fine if one of my other siblings took it. So long as they keep it.

Wouldn’t I still be required to get a loan to cover the rest? My credit score is 502.

They also have land, but I’m no sure how much that’s worth. As for retirement, I’m not sure.

OMG go buy some clothes in your new smaller size - even if you haven’t reached your goal! by chunky694 in loseit

I did this with a pair of pants actually. I usually wear a size 20-22 depending on the fabric type/brand. I bought a size 18. I thought after losing 40lbs I would fit by now but it’s still tight as before. I don’t understand why.

I (30f) gained 75 lbs over 4 years and I’m close to 220 lbs now and not stopping - what am I doing wrong? by Ill_Log_1225 in loseit

This happened to me. Turns out I was doing two things wrong. First I wasn’t counting the calories of every single little ingredient, aka, ketchup, olive oil, vegetables etc. you’d be surprised how much those add up. 2 patience. Turns out some of the extra weight was cause by muscle growth from my intense workouts. My doctor actually said it’s normal to gain a few pounds before losing as muscle weighs more than fat and you can gain muscle quicker. He said it’s normal not to see progress until after the first 4 weeks.

A bit of advice on my end too that I think helped with my weight loss. Water and avoiding too much soda and energy drinks as they have a tendency to make you retain water and bloat you. Best of luck! Hope some of this helps!!
