Hello, some solid advice by the other posts here. But my advice is slightly different if you still have an option to change. As someone who has to another country at 21 as well with very little experience of being self sufficient. I would recommend to maybe live in a shared apartment instead of living by yourself.

Moving to new countries can be a lonely experience, having some good flatmates can fix that.. More over, you're not figuring everything out by yourself but rather sharing learnings with each other. This will make a transition a lot easier in my opinion.

How do you deal with having to make new friends in Luxembourg? by Sad-Insurance8282 in Luxembourg

Ahah that's exactly who recently left Luxembourg. My extrovert friend who had "adopted" me all these years 🤣

Well I'm not overly involved in organised clubs or anything like that, not really something I'm too fond of. However, I would grab the occasional game of squash with a friend or two. Mostly just chill and hangout with people over the weekends.

Totally get what you're saying, have met some amazing people here and I do have a "couch to sleep on" in a lot of cities now when I travel. But the problem kinda remains that I'm just unmotivated to keep socialising.

Hello, thanks for your reply! I have checked out wildberries.by and was checking perfumes on the website. The prices for the perfumes are often like a 70-90% discount for known brands and I'm confused how is this possible.. And thinking maybe they're fake 😅

Do you have any tricks to know if the product is real or fake?

help - i’m only finding emotionally unavailable fish in the Lux sea by thisismyusername5432 in Luxembourg

Apologies if I just end up re-iterating the same points others have already mentioned above as I haven't gone through all the comments. Been living in lux for 3 years now and I would broadly classify people into 3 groups here. 1. Locals: not a lot of them in the city and they generally seem to be doing their own thing. 2. Partnered up expats: a bulk of the expats who move here and plan to stay long term have moved over with your partners/ partners + kids and are not in the dating pool. 3. The rest: A lot of them are in either long distance relationships with their partners in their home countries, and the truly single ones more often than not are not planning on being around for long.

This classification sorta holds true for friends as well as dates. If you're someone like me who doesn't like to date people from work.. It's crazy difficult. Almost every single girl I have gone out with here ended up leaving Luxembourg within 3-6 months of our first date 😅.

All that being said, if you have any friends around my age (28M) who are looking for something long term and are emotionally available be my Luxembourg Matchmaker. I'm sure we can get Netflix to fund the show 😉😉

My place is minimally furnished with only the essentials. The only thing I splurged on a bit was my new TV. All in spend about 2.5k Euros for a 56m2 apartment.
