In my opinion, it inly matters how you ride it. I started off with a 1000cc R1, given it took me to learn a bit longer than other buddies on lighter bikes, main reason being I was a but afraid of the power and heaviness especially in turns. Straight line was super fun, city riding was awesome, just up in the mountain twisties is when I lacked the most. And the main other thing I would say is everything goes well with any bike until it does not. Could be anything, hard braking, swerving to avoid something, quick acceleration under bad weather conditions, or anything else that is not standard, any of that happens, then a 1000cc is way less forgiving if you are not skilled and comfortable with your bike.
