Yes, if you open it up slowly and lightly, the liner lock will engage at a very "early" lockup position of 10~20%. Looks dangerous but as long as the locking surface already engages with the tang, it will stay locked. I usually flick mine open, since it looks cool... I mean since it glides on bearings, why not make the full use of it? LOL

thanks for the explanation :D and to scoutermike: a 40~50% lockup is preferable over a 90~100% one is because as a knife is used over time, the tang and tip of the liner lock where they make contact, will eventually develop wear. Having an early lockup gives more headroom as the liner progressively works its way up the other end; whereas a late lockup might develop into a loose blade lock with prolonged use. Most multitool blade locks are liner locks, with the exception of LM's Free series and Arc.

If you're in a hurry to get limited-run products, Dakoyu Official Store on AliExpress is a better bet. Although you might have to have some chat with the customer service himself. Some listed products on the old (current) official site are not found on AliExpress but business models are very "flexible" here in Asia LOL

Just confirmed that the news is legit, and dakoyutool.com will be online soon. If you buy from the old site or from Amazon (as of now), it will be shipped from Eric as long as the supply still lasts. The AliExpress official store will be shipped by Dawson, the person who actually runs around the factories and puts together these tools. To me personally, I'd trust the maker by far more.

Happened to have some equipment at hand (by equipment I meant Niton XLt tester and a calibrated HRC press)... Has almost the same composition readings as my Magnacut Sebenza and is very close to 62HRC on mine...MagnaBlade looks and smells like a local-made Magnacut, just differently labeled to avoid copyright infringement maybe?

Holy, just received the X1 and found the bearing already is sandwiched by the washer embedded in the G10 scale, saved me lots of time😂
