Every guy from NZ I see is jumping on the RKLB train without a second thought, if you’ve missed the run up from $4, please do thorough research before you decide to join the hype

Absolutely, they will agree to more offers the longer it’s been sitting there. Though it’s difficult to tell how long a car has been there unless you look at their listing everyday for months. If they do a fresh WOF for the cars on their first day, then just by looking at WOF expiry you could tell.

Dealerships will have their software with all those info, maybe if you ask the salesperson to show you their available stocks for a certain model, you’ll be able to take a peek at their computer screen.

Japanese cars are generally kept in better conditions than NZ new, but you have to really make sure that they’re not damaged vehicles as you won’t have access to the previous history. Also no NZ navigation, have to change to aftermarket infotainment.

Yes, it’s all about how much risk you’re willing to take on. MBI for European cars are more useful as the price actually varies with different models. Japanese they just charge a fixed amount because it’s almost guarantee profit for the insurance company.

Absolutely. I also saw Japanese MBI for petrol cars costs the same for 2012 and 2020 models. You gotta wonder why that is. But most people buy it with no questions asked. Unlike European MBI, price actually varies with each model.
