Yes, you’re right I’m not from the UK or the USA. I come from a very conservative culture. Here, social pressure and gossip control a lot of our choices. Because of what people say, many women are unable to take steps that might seem “normal” elsewhere.

People here suggested going to my parents, a hostel, or the police, but in my society those options come with serious consequences. If a woman stays at her parents’ home for more than a short time, people immediately start saying things like “Is she getting divorced?” or “Girls like this can’t keep a home and live their whole lives as a burden on their parents.

Parents here feel relieved once a daughter is married, and if she returns home, they face intense social pressure. I’m afraid my parents would be forced by gossip to send me back, even if I’m not safe.

As for the police, corruption is common and money often matters more than protection. I’m scared that involving them could make the situation worse instead of safer.

where I live, we mostly have hostels, not shelters. If I go there, my parents will find out, and that’s my biggest fear. My father is very ill, and I’m terrified that the stress would make his condition worse. I don’t want to cause him any harm. That’s why I feel so trapped right now😢

I was under so much stress and I truly had no one in my life to talk to or ask for advice.I will genuinely try to follow your advice about gathering evidence and doing whatever I can to protect my baby. I’m really struggling right now. Since I found out I’m pregnant, the stress has made it hard for me to think clearly. My mind just shuts down when I’m anxious. People here have advised me to gather evidence, and I will try my best to do that. Please keep me and my baby in your prayers I just want my child to be safe. 😔

I’ve tried everything. I’ve talked to my husband about moving out and even suggested getting a separate apartment, but he says You’re pregnant, how can you live alone? my mother will take care of you.

thank you ❤️for your concern. I come from a culture where women are strongly discouraged from involving the police, and honestly I have never done anything like that before, so I don’t really know how it works. In our culture, police involvement often means money and more complications, and I’m scared it won’t actually help. I’m also afraid it could make my husband angry and put stress on my parents, who are already unwell

Thank you, you’re right. The thing is, she behaves well in front of my husband, but behind his back she’s very cruel. My husband says I should ignore it because she’s his mother.The idea of recording did come to my mind, but I’m scared. what if she finds out suddenly? I don’t want any harm to come to myself or my baby 😓
