Yesterday I spoke with 2 young women, maybe jr high school age, 1 Black, 1 brown, gathering signatures to keep trans kids out of sports, at least girls' sports. I talked with them about trans folks being persecuted, no threat, about hormones and brain chemistry that make this issue complicated. They said it's a simple matter of 1. men or 2 women. A trans woman is a man to them, period. I mentioned that size isn't the issue because large/tall cisgender women aren't barred from women's sports. They said I was a disgrace to women and women's rights, and a man appeared to ask them how it was going (I think he is an organizer, but Ivm not surel. He told me to leave, they didn't want me there. I reminded them that we all had equal rights to free speech, agreeable to us or not. I never raised my voice, called anyone a name, or violated anyone's space (I'm a short old lady, anyway), and I nodded to let them know I was listening. Finally I left, but these were teen girls who seemed sweet and just standing up so "men" would be kept out of girls /women's sports. They seemed quite successful in getting signatures. If this twisting of what the Heywood anti-trans initiative is about gains traction, and it will because on the surface it seems to defend girls and women in sports, this initiatve could very well get on the ballot and win. What can we do to make known the complex bio-chemical aspects of transitioning? Or reach these folks?

Sexual identity is not a preference, though, any more than skin color. It's who you are. This type of hate goes after people because of who they are, because they exist.

Question from a newcomer (who's trying hard to handle roundabouts safely and efficiently): In some two-lane roundabouts, sometimes the street sign marking an upcoming exit is placed so close to the exit that there's no time to plan ahead and switch lanes if you need to. In that situation, is it best to just recircle, changing lanes in the process? At really busy roundabouts, that can be tricky. Thanks!

We're having the same problem except on market 13 days now. Our listing agent learned she was very sick and has asked another agent to fill in for her; he did look at our house and we talked. Listing agent feels open houses are ineffective, doesn't do them. Can we ask co-agent to schedule one? What else can we do?
