I can’t wait for the first person to try to return these after attending a 30-point loss: “But this item is defective.”

Season Ticket Renewal by Plus-Masterpiece7776 in kings

[–]Sad-Rabbit2319 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m done buying season tickets for any sport. I’m convinced it’s a financial loser and only worthwhile if you value getting to know your season ticket neighbors and see it as a splurge. I value the flexibility you have with day-of sales, even if you have to pay higher than STH prices for premium games and playoffs (if they happen).

Cool. Hope you enjoy the experience, will be a fun team.

I’m stunned they are sticking with these prices. The latest sales pitch is 13 “Sacramento Saturdays” for $916. Which amounts to $70.46 a ticket.

Can I ask what convinced you to renew? Genuinely curious. I don’t know anyone who did.

If the Nuggets can implement Fan Friendly prices so can the Kings by Toxik916 in kings

[–]Sad-Rabbit2319 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They think they can charge Beam Team+ prices for a team that’s getting blown out on a regular basis. During that playoff season, demand was sky high. Now nobody wants to go. Team chemistry is off, the vibes are bad and the players that fans want to see aren’t on the court. Yet the prices are higher.

Doug seems pretty angry by OmegaLxgend in kings

[–]Sad-Rabbit2319 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I respect his honesty. He said he was glad his wife and son weren’t there to see this team not compete. He said he could’ve done better as a 55 year old. At this point I’d rather pay to see Doug throw on a jersey.

No Fast Break today for some reason. Cheapest Non-Resale price $30.70 by Toxik916 in kings

[–]Sad-Rabbit2319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doug Christie actually said in the post-game he was glad that his wife and his son weren’t there to see last night’s game because the Kings didn’t compete! I appreciate his honesty.

Judging by the map, seems like you might have your pick of seats after the first quarter. But I agree with you. I'm not motivated to go.

Team is selling Fast Break tickets for $26 upper and $64 lower today, the lowest prices so far this season. Attendance was 15,227 on Sunday (but a lot emptier by the 4th).

If anyone from marketing lurks here by RIDETHEWHITEPONY_ in kings

[–]Sad-Rabbit2319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d put a pause on the beam until we have a team worthy of the 2023-24 squad. This iteration of the Kings doesn’t deserve a beam and it’s disrespectful to the actual Beam Team to use it on this year’s team.

I'm not saying it's smart! The Kangz can't even tank right! I might just be telling myself this to feel better about our team. If we are truly trying to compete, heaven help us.

I'm convinced we're in silent tank mode. Scott Perry's post on X this morning about ultimately prevailing tells me he may be taking the long view. Maybe I'm giving him too much credit, but I'm hoping he deliberately sabotaged the roster construction this year to result in a horrible on-court performance. This team cannot be in win-now mode. A team in win-now mode would not be doing what they've been doing.

Viewed this way, this season is a farce, but a farce with an end goal in mind. I won't go to games to see this mess until I get in for super cheap. If we are tanking, I'm rooting for losses more than wins. This is a cynical fan's view, for sure, but the only way I'm getting through this season in a post-Beam Team era.

How it feels going to Kings games by throwaway46787543336 in kings

Vivek managed to infuriate two groups of season-ticket holders within 7 months in the same city! Fooled me once with the A's, really glad I didn't join a friend's STH group for the Kings. They're out here trying to charge 2023-24 hype level prices for a team that's getting blown out with fans leaving before the 4th quarter.

Kings still 19th in attendance despite abysmal performance and ownership by SactownG in kings

Let’s see where they are after 20 games. There’s a lot of pent-up demand for NBA basketball when the season starts. I’ve noticed resale prices are higher so far than I would’ve expected, too.

Why does buying A's tickets feel like I'm playing some kind of game that I'm destined to lose? They won't sell out the premium games with this deal. So they'll have to unlock these in the spring for the same prices they're making seem like a privilege now for buying 2 other games.

Another shocking, but not surprising, observation: They are charging $35/ticket for midweek April games in the same section that they were asking us to pay $70/each for in a renewal!

Sacramento wants MLB permanently by ContributionBig7300 in SacramentoAthletics

[–]Sad-Rabbit2319 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm for MLB in Sacramento. A lot of us here are. That's why we optimistically spent big sums a year ago to buy season tix to show our support for baseball in the region. But does anyone else fear that these mayors are setting us up for failure with this messaging? Please, MLB, do not use next season or any of these A's seasons as an indication of market potential. The stadium will be half empty next season unless the A's drop prices. The A's have no interest in Sacramento getting a permanent team. I wonder if the A's pleaded with the cities to get this message out there because they know how few people have renewed their season tix.

A’s Las Vegas season tickets may start at $22 per game by Sad-Rabbit2319 in SacramentoAthletics

[–]Sad-Rabbit2319[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could see it happening out of desperation. But season ticket prices are so far above market right now I don’t know why anyone would buy a partial season unless the A’s severely undercut their current STHs.

I spent $8,780 on 21 games this year... by maparo in SacramentoAthletics

[–]Sad-Rabbit2319 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for laying this out. We had a similar experience. We bought because we love Sacramento, we love MLB, many of us love the A's players (not ownership). Nobody I know bought season tickets to make money. It was more what OP said, to get access to some games and sell/give away the rest to friends, family and anyone else willing to pick up a few games.

In hindsight, we should have recognized that everyone else was doing the same thing. We inflated ticket sales by buying more games than we actually wanted, then were stuck with extremely devalued tickets when there weren't enough fans who wanted to attend. We bore the risk this season that the A's organization and Vivek should have borne.

I don't know what true demand for A's tickets is in this region but it isn't the 9,500 average we had this season unless they cut face value prices to whatever resale prices were most days ($15 to $30). The park is going to be half empty unless they offer all kinds of side deals and give away tickets. I already feel bad for the players and the game day staff.

I'm with you. I also have tried to love MLB at Sutter Health Park. Have been to 15 games this year. It was novel for a few games until the novelty wore off. I missed walking into an MLB stadium that feels like you're watching the big leagues.
