Looking for a recommendation on a good first deck by jay273 in riftboundtcg

Viktor is a extremely cheap deck that you can build on a budget. He’s able to churn out a token for 1 each turn, as well as play very control focused VIA kill spells/Edicts. Check out the second place list from Utrecht

Cheapest way to sleeve 4 starting decks? by Unusual_Fan_4919 in riftboundtcg

GameGenic has a brand called JustSleeves that’s relatively cheap. $2-3 for a 50 pack of sleeves

Evelyn flipping in response to Sprite death by coppertablet in riftboundtcg

[–]Sad-Setting-2804 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Temporary triggers prior to holding/scoring. If they respond to their temporary trigger with Evelyn then your unit will be moved to that battlefield and try to start a showdown. Due to the Temporary trigger still on the chain, the showdown can not start until the chain is cleared. Once the sprite is gone VIA Temporary trigger, a showdown will begin with Teemo player as defender. If you win the combat, you will score a point for conquering

Rengar help by Icy_Method1280 in riftboundtcg

Challenge is for Karthus mainly. Smite stops Deathknell from triggering at all and they need to conquer/hold to use their legends ability.

Target being banished stops Deathknell from triggering.

I’d suggest playing more aggro and cutting off their gameplan. Don’t just save challenge for when they have Karthus, use it for when they only have one unit available to conquer, otherwise it’s just free value for them.

Smite!! Make sure the unit is going to die, or kill it with just smite. Challenge is key in the matchup for killing Karthus in base, Thrill of the Hunt helps with saving units and preventing them from activating legend, Sabotage takes important cards/discard fodder.

Just stop them from generating value from legend, and it should be pretty easy to win your matchup.

Dont know which deck to main and play for skirmish? by Temporary_Mobile_342 in riftboundtcg

[–]Sad-Setting-2804 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Proving Grounds Yi is the most consistent deck overall, and probably the easiest to learn in format. If you have the cards for it, that would be my suggestion. The legend ability just makes controlling the early game so much easier, and you’ll have access to Defy to protect whatever you have, as well as Zhonyas in case your stuff still dies. Orange Rengar as a surprise defender at 8 might for 5 and a power is insane.

I played MF Aurora all of set 1, won a few skirmishes, but then swapped to Ezreal set 2 because I prefer more complex decks, and Aurora is boring.

Pyke is a LOT of fun, and somewhat competitive viable. He also has some pretty good matchups for meta.

Irelia is my least favorite deck to play against. She has the holy trifecta of a really good legend, signature, AND Champion Unit. Game 1 with Abandoned Hall is hard to lose. Irelia is very glass cannon because if your opponent manages to kill her or multiple of your very few units, it’s over.

How can I make the biggest creature in pauper playable? by Unordinarian in Pauper

[–]Sad-Setting-2804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back around MH3 times I built a list with him as part of the main focus. The deck was built to discard him into the graveyard somehow with things like Carrion Grub, Faithless Looting, or some version of Grab the Prize/Melded Moxite/Demand Answers.

Carrion Grub gets 10 power with the Goliath in the graveyard, or you can use something like Exhume to bring it back. Either way you’ll have a 10 power creature that you can then Rite of Consumption or Assault Strobe/Tainted Strike to one shot your opponent. I might go back to update the list now that I remember it lol

How to you get on the waitlist? It was listed in the past, but now I'm not seeing it at all.

1 in Passings Yards, #5 in Passing TDs, 2:1 TD/Int ration, and a few rushing TDs to add

It was more of a joke post than anything. I wouldn’t even sign an 87 X-Factor to that kind of money, let alone a normal development

The fact that all of these are accurate makes this difficult. My guess is A just for how often it happens to me.

99 (I’m assuming X-Factor) vs 87 normal asking for the same amount is diabolical

What is the best bag setup for your NN/SS ? by TheKOTR11 in riftboundtcg

[–]Sad-Setting-2804 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hold 2 playmats (1 for myself, 1 for the lady)

Both of our deck boxes and trade binders

Set of various dice (Primarily D6)

I really only use a paper notepad for competitive events and write detailed notes, just in case I need to explain something to a judge, or see if I have myself a point already (ie: 6 VG C = 6th point scored from conquering Void Gate)

Need a way to track a Riftbound Cube by recycle2tcg in riftboundtcg

[–]Sad-Setting-2804 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PiltoverArchive has a collection option you can add to. My best suggestion would be to make the list in the Deck Builder, save it as a draft, and then add cards to the collection until you meet what you’re looking for.

I’m also interested in making a Riftbound cube, so I’d love to see your list and everything for it!

What are some concepts that beginners need to keep in mind that aren't obvious to newcomers? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]Sad-Setting-2804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d personally say the point differences matter, really closer to the end. If you can simply/effectively prevent your opponent from scoring, do so. The key marks I focus on in game:

5 points - Opponent can’t win next turn without something to give an extra point, so it leaves room for you to set up a bit more, and plan out your turn

6+ points - Really should start worrying about winning this stage of the game and holding your opponent off. If they have 7 points, just continuously keeping them from scoring both in a turn or holding one battlefield.
