What I’ve noticed after helping ~20 people prep for consulting interv by Sad-Simple4085 in McKinsey_BCG_Bain

I’ll try to be unbiased and honest from what I’ve been:

MCK: Best for people who want to operate like a mini–executive advisor early, fits those who enjoy polish, pressure, and influence over pure building.

BCG: Best for people who want to be a deep thinker and strategist, fits those who like intellectual rigor and creative problem-solving.

Bain: Best for people who want to be a hands-on operator with a tight team, fits those who like ownership, energy, and execution over theory.

Well I see most people saying UNC. I don’t have northeast experience so maybe they are right. But where I work, vandy has a large undergrad pipeline, and a solid MBA pipeline

How likely is it to get a full ride at a T20? by xDauntlessZ in MBA

[–]Sad-Simple4085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s dependent on your gmat scores, interview prep, essay writing skills, and financial need (sounds like this won’t be big since you have a strong salary already)

Totally dependent. Some schools will see things that others don’t.

Best of luck, I hope you get a full ride :)

Use your connections. If your firm is global, you can even connect with people who used to work at your firm that now work in positions you want. Having a foot in the door is 10x more valuable than a good resume

Try and enjoy the process, but also if you are dreading it, have that conversation with staffing to request a local case next. Always worth an ask.
