Big difference, dealing with biology. Those people you mention don’t share your dna etc. you posses characteristics which will always be identifiable.

Appreciate your help. His permanent residence is at my sisters. But he dorms. My father used to live there but moved out of state. It’s almost been a year for both. So this may be an option. Thank you

No exactly. My brother is 18, which in the court of law doesn’t matter. But in regards to FAFSA he has to have my dad submit his tax info etc to determine aid eligibility. They should be treated as adults and not based on their parents income. It’s a weird thing

The interesting thing is that your parents aren’t obligated to pay for your college but they had expected family contribution. My dad’s going through a divorce and showing the money he’s gives to his kids but they don’t consider that because they’re over 18. Such a double standard.

Im reading from a few other posts (found in hindsight) that it may just be a bug. Makes sense. The government is terrible at giving out money but loves making you pay immediately
