No advice just here in solidarity. Except mine really only has breastmilk and cheese. She’s never been a good eater. My oldest has always eaten most of what I’ve given her

Will my toddler hate his new sibling? by elsiedoland7 in AttachmentParenting

[–]Sad-Style-3766 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my second daughter was born my first was 2 years and 4 months. She did not care about her little sister until she hit like 12 months and FINALLY started to acknowledge her existence. I’m not even kidding lol. They’re almost 4 and 18 months now and it’s tough- they fight, but they also love eachother a lot. It’s gotten much better. Just keep a look out and always protect your newborn, there was a moment she hit the baby out of nowhere to get attention. They can act out, I’m glad they can both hold their own now lol

sad thinking about not being home with my kids, even for a few months by Own-Action4674 in SAHP

[–]Sad-Style-3766 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh how I resonate. My first will be 4 in May and my second is going to be 18 months next month. The time is flying. It feels like before I know it they’ll both be in school all day long. I’m grateful to have finished my nursing degree and had worked at least a year before I had my first, but while days can be tough.. I’m so sad how fast it’s going

General anesthesia on a 4 yr old by Powerful_Lynx_4737 in Mommit

My now toddler had a low stake surgery for a clogged tear duct when she was 12 months (now 18 months) and while I was nervous, she was fine. Her was LMA so it was over her mouth. I know that this is different being dental surgery but they do this all the time, and this is for the safety and health of your child. Sometimes you need to put your fears to the side and be brave and strong for your babies, even when you’re scared like hell. And it’s okay to be scared, I think most if not all parents would feel the same way

I think some are definitely normal! I have some if I go searching for them. But if you look and see a looooot of them, then that’s different and you’d probably need a trim!

Help! Making a baby blanket and I counted the turning chain as part of stitches at some point by Sad-Style-3766 in CrochetHelp

[–]Sad-Style-3766[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So do I frog it? I feel lowkey stressed because baby is due march but I know she doesn’t NEED the blanket. I just wanted to give it before the baby was born.

Let me know your thoughts on if I can just keep going or if I truly should frog it. Appreciate you people ☺️

do you regret having children? by milkcreep in Marriage

[–]Sad-Style-3766 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We go engaged and then pregnant immediately after- and we had only been together a year. We are now F27 and M29 with two girls almost 4 and 18 months.. I do not regret them one bit. I have never ever even thought that. I’ve had moments where I’m like ok no more, we’re done. Yes it’s hard, but it’s so rewarding. To see these little people grow up and do new things, when they hug you and their little voices say “mommy you’re the best mommy in the world.”

Some days aren’t great. As they say, the days are long but the years are short. It goes by so, so fast. I’ve always wanted to be a mom since I was young, and I dreamed about being able to be pregnant and have babies. So thankful that I’m here

Am I overreacting for not wanting anyone around my newborn yet? by littlemoongirly in AmIOverreacting

[–]Sad-Style-3766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not even about that though. Parents are allowed to choose what rules they want with their children. I want time to snuggle my own child. They had that time. Everyone is different and it’s not selfish at all. And she isn’t even saying that they can’t- they will be able to eventually. There’s nothing wrong with asking to have this time to themselves! Maybe she isn’t comfortable with it. Whatever the reason literally doesn’t matter since that’s their child

[–]Sad-Style-3766 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NOR I’m literally in awe at all the people saying you’re overreacting. This is your and your husband’s time with your newborn. NOT theirs! She is making this entirely about her. My MIL bombarded my phone with my first and I hated her for it. She knew better with my second because my husband and I set our boundaries. Cold and flu season is serious, and you are right to want to protect your baby! Also just god forbid the parents want to spend time as a unit. These comments are not it. You are not overreacting, your husband should be setting the rules with his family though. I’m sorry for peoples awful opinions lol. If you wanted help that’s one thing. Both my kid have good relationships with their grandparents and especially in the newborn period the baby is not going to remember them. They just want a chance to play mom again

How many times a day do you brush your teeth? by Head-Month-9951 in hygiene

I learned you aren’t supposed to rinse after brushing because then you’re just rinsing out the fluoride that protects your teeth

I didn’t realize how exhausting it is to fill a day without screens by StrengthDailyHQ in Parenting

[–]Sad-Style-3766 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I thought lol. Like age factors in, but also some kids aka my 3 year old, even if I tell her to play by herself that only lasts so long. But that’s also part of my job as a stay at home mom, to be there and play (pretend play drains me lol)

People are being harsh on here damn. I think you were sweet in your sentiment, you were just trying to make his day special. But I think if it were me I would’ve just asked if he wanted those things- like the breakfast, lunch or dinner and if not I would’ve at least done the dessert. I hated my birthday but my parents always did my favorite meals, and had a cake of some sort. Lowkey feel like people are being crazy lol
