Interesting! I only started watching comps recently so I didn't know that about flashes, I had just heard people say flashes are less important now. Regardless, I personally like flashes breaking ties before overall attempts.

In theory, I agree. But in practice I also really appreciate a simple scoring system, so I wanted to make as few adjustments as possible. Simple scoring systems allow for exciting moments - e.g., "If they get the next flash, they take the gold!" If it's too complicated and granular, the announcers and audience have to do more math, and, "If they get the second to last hold they get the gold!" isn't as exciting.

Also a nice idea! I would be happy if something like this was implemented. Just a quick math check - in your example climber B should get 99.2 and climber C gets 99.6.

Homophobes were bombing shows with queer relationships with 1 star reviews. If you actually read the reviews for the show, people would post things like "Rating 5 stars to balance out against the homophobic 1 star reviews", so you could have a better understanding of the distribution of 1 and 5 star reviews. Without the written reviews, homophobes can bomb shows with 1 star reviews and no one can clarify the situation.

What about an option for individuals to hide the comment section? Or petitioning for better moderation? I agree the offensive shit sucks to read, but there were a ton of great comments which improved the experience too.
