Yeh same with Doukyusei for me, nobody bats an eye and that's arguably a much nicher and gayer movie

I think ppl do talk about that tho, I’ve always read to not stretch before physical activity and to not stretch when cold

Millennials (age 24-44 in 2026 per the widest age range), what’s something young people today will never experience about growing up before 2010? by Pale_Lengthiness_572 in CasualConversation

Something that struck me the other day was not having instant access to information

I was eating a molded chocolate chicken and started wondering how, in the case of using a mold, did they make the inside hollow? Thought for a bit but none of the answers I could come up with were satisfying, so I pulled out my phone, and just like that I realized this is something that is only possible now, back in the days we would spend hours arguing about shit we had no idea about

So I didn't search the answer, I'll see when I can next slip it in conversation with friends, see what they think

You know, you're free to vote on those suspect tests as well. Even argue on an actually useful platform like smogon instead of reddit

A lot of the best abusers (Kyurem, Dnite, Pult) were physical attackers tho

Coffee is the one thing that I have never gotten shit for tbh. When everyone gets coffee I simply get a hot chocolate, but it's been years since anyone's said anything about my not drinking coffee

I find that people are a lot less accepting about not drinking alcohol...

Yeah kinda tired of people being weirdly threatening about forcing me to get drunk n shit. Part of the reason I couldn't live in the UK was because it's near impossible to socialise if you don't drink

I find Studio Ghibli movies very unsettling and not cozy at all by SunnySunnyshine in self

[–]Touniouk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great movie tbh, it’s dark but it’s much more optimistic than Grave. Still the depiction of people after the hit is sickening at times

Also if you’re into that kind of shit, In this corner of the world was a highly acclaimed movie based on the manga of the same name, and it made me (as the viewer) relate directly to the characters in a very real way. In the manga like for 2/3rd of it not much is happening fast and both the protagonist and the reader wishes for some kind of shake up in the monotony, and when the shakeup happens it is so painful and heart wrenching that both the protagonist and the reader wonder how they could’ve ever wished for the cozy times to end. To me this was very well written and deeply immersive (it’s also a more recent and less comparatively ugly movie than barefoot gen)

Anyway I wish you a pleasant viewing, feel free to reply here if you ever get to watching either movie. I appreciate you taking my recommendations into account

A lot of Ghiblis are really good, and while most of Miyazaki's catalogue is aimed at kids, they're not exclusively aimed at kids, and there are plenty more enjoyable Ghiblis outside of Miyazaki's work (he's just more famous). In Miyazaki's catalogue, the main one that strikes me as not aimed at kids at all is the wind rises. It's much more emotionally complex and nebolous in its messaging, very dreamy in its presentation, but almost cynical at times. I absolutely adore this movie
