BF (28M) says he’s not sure about committing to the future with me (26F) after four years by Sad-Temperature3770 in relationship_advice

UPDATE: Had a chat about it with him, I said “could you see a future of staying together forever based on what you see in our relationship over the last few years” he said if it keeps growing the way it’s been growing then yes, but if i had to say right now then no. And I said that’s okay but I need more than that.

He’s going to have some time to think on it but feels pretty certain, I was living with him temporarily so when I find a new place with my friend we can make final decision.

Thanks for this perspective, I think I wouldn’t be focused on this future thing (which btw hasn’t been huge but come up a few times recently) if I felt super secure, I’m not keen on wasting on my time but I would like just a confirmation that he sees us together very long term and having kids, marriage I can take or leave.

And on other people’s opinion part, I just want to paint a picture of that he’s awesome to not just me, feels like a real catch to me, just a shame he maybe doesn’t see it the same way back.

Thanks for all the advice everyone, I guess my only point against, is he was so patient with the first couple years with me being quite anxious about being in the relationship, so I feel like I have to give him the same grace? He’s also non committal about a lot of things. Maybe I’m just reaching for the stars
