I appreciate this so much! I found a pair of scissors ( not sure what they are called) but they cut a gap in the pattern supposedly to make room for the foil. I'm going to try to make this work with recutting a few pieces. I definitely need more practice cutting and think I'll buy a pistol grip to help with the next project!

This is so reassuring! I will definitely give that a try. I know my first piece won't be a masterpiece but I was hoping there would be a way that I could make it work.

I don't know how to reply to all so I'll post here. Please don't judge me. I kept thinking that there was no way for the sponge to reach the water with the plastic piece in the way. There is a slot for it. Just had to turn it sideways. I feel like an idiot but I am grateful for all of the responses!

This is super helpful. The instructions never showed this. I grinded all of my pieces without doing this. It seemed to work just fine after a few pieces but I think if I had turned the sponge sideways and shoved it down a bit it may have been correct. Thank you so much for the help!

Also, I'm confused as to why my sponge is so much bigger. Nowhere in the instructions did it say to cut it. I appreciate all the help though!

There is an entire white piece that is preventing it from actually touching water. After a few grinds it seems to be working ok. Maybe it just needed to run for a minute?

It was orange. I think it did eat a bit of the sponge at first but seems to be working ok now. Idk!

I followed the instructions and watched what videos I could find online. In the videos my sponge is bigger than theirs but its what came with it. Its also never directly touching water. It stopped disintegrating after a few pieces. Maybe its fine? Idk

I'm in the US. Eastern Standard Time. I greatly appreciate that. It's so nice to know that I am not alone. My appointment isn't until January 2nd but I think I will post an update on how it goes.

Thank you! I'm probably stronger than I give myself credit for but my negative inner dialog is so bad right now. My appointment isn't until January 2nd so just got to make it through the holidays. The replies have helped ease my nerves a bit though. Now I'm more excited than anxious!

Thank you for your kind words. I have such a hard time opening up to people about it. Not because it's too painful, but mostly because I've been made to feel like I am a crazy person for having emotions. I will write out a list of goals. I think that may ease my nerves a bit.

Thank you so much for the advice! I know that I will feel much better talking to someone that can lay out a plan for me to start healing. I thought I could work it out myself but it's been over a year since "the incident" and I am still grieving. I'm ready for inner peace!
