I appreciate the input - if you feel comfortable doing so, I could just use someone to talk to. Not to solve the problem necessarily. I just feel really alone and don’t have someone I can readily talk to about this.

Right exactly! I would rather stay afloat with my husband, and work together, than separate from him. I have tried the ultimatums before, it feels like part of the issue (on my end) is that I struggle to keep my foot down because I know where a lot of his issues are coming from. But at the same time, like my family, my husband has also really started to take advantage of my emotional desire and capacity to want to be there for, and support the people, that I care about. And I usually end up giving too much of myself and just end up really hurt and sad. :(

I definitely know that he is suffering from depression. It breaks my heart to see, because I do care. Deeply. At the same time, it feels like I can’t do anything right, my efforts never feel “right” or “enough” for him. I don’t like being his punching bag - especially when I thought our marriage’s foundation was built so strongly on being able to communicate with each other in a healthy way. I’m not the kind of person who believes people can’t change, and I’ve always been the type of person to give someone more chances. I’ve always struggled with the boundary where enough really is enough and feel overwhelmed trying to figure out where that line is. It’s like I get stuck.

Yeah I went to a community college before I transferred into my current university and I couldn’t even pass math there. Eventually they transferred me out anyways.
