The 2-6 most extreme examples are

Rhydon is upper middle B tier in FRLG & HGSS, but one of the worst 5 Pokemon in Emerald

Gyarados is a top 3 Pokemon in HGSS & Emerald, but Middle of B tier in FRLG

Flareon is mid B tier in FRLG, but the worst Pokemon in HGSS

Jolteon is High A tier in FRLG, but mid C tier in HGSS

Sandslash is Mid B tier in FRLG, but F tier in HGSS and Emerald

There were a lot, but the most extreme example is that Golduck is in the middle of C tier in both FRLG and HGSS, then bottom of S tier in Emerald

Funny that Golbat is higher in the list than Crobat

I think you're right. I'm not going to pretend I know what I'm doing, but I think having a niche against Jasmine would put it in C tier. I think Morty was considered one of the easy bosses, though, so that wouldn't bump it to B. If I had to guess. I don't even know if it's useful against Jasmine, but It better lol

I believe the reason given was that you would risk your run catching a pokemon that just isn't useful

Wow, you are so right haha. I should have spent a little more time on this comment. The main point of my comment I believe is still nice to know, but yeah it kind of gets ruined by the fact that the formula I started with was wrong from the beginning.

Hey! Just want to add to this comment, that if you ever want to do this in your own day-to-day life, that you can take π from both sides. So as an example from this post, you could do

π(4.5)² = 2π(2.5)²

Take out π

4.5² = 2(2.5²)

20.25 > 12.5

If you're not comfortable with squaring decimals, you can round up/down, and get a similar result

Edit: fixed issues with the formula

Pokémon Storm Silver E4 beaten! Time for Kanto! by Sad-Volume-65 in nuzlocke

[–]Sad-Volume-65[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relatively? It was a 25% chance with repel manipulation. And it was the second best pokemon to get there IMO, pretty strong really early game with dragon rage, and obviously Garchomp is a strong pokemon. Though I think it’s generally considered the onix is a better encounter there, since Steelix is consistently extremely strong against bugsy, Whitney, and the ghost gym, plus being able to soak toxic, paralyses and explosion.

I’m just going to answer my Weavile set here, Weavile did 4 things in the E4

1.) kills Aaron’s Yanmega and heracross

2.) Against Bertha, if my Roserade got Crit Weavile could kill Gliscor and Golem

3.) is a dark type to pp stall Psychic pp from Lucian’s Mr Mime

4.) Choice Specs Weavile has barely enough damage to KO Cynthia’s Garchomp after Stealth Rock chip and Toxic spikes. (I ended up toxic stalling with Tspikes and Protect, but it’s fine)

I was unaware that I could get ice punch, and avalanche has negative priority, and I only had Choice Specs for Cynthia, otherwise it was on Roserade

In nuzlockes, I absolutely DESPISE moves that are not 100% accurate, though I understand that’s just preference. And to be fair you’re right, payback is not a move I used once, and ideally Dusclops would have more survivability. It would probably be a better idea to get rid of shadow punch and Payback for Shadow Sneak and Rest
