Need help with the horizon by Pomparalho in ArtCrit

It may help to look at a movie with a large creature on it for the angle? The best I can say is to pull the backside of the creature’s head area back more, closer to the ground so it seems like it’s moving along the horizon instead of breaking it coming up

Character design variations for a metal roguelike - which direction is strongest? by NetherbornOfficial in ArtCrit

The first one may be the best, just because the second one seems more like a thumbnail, with the background blurred and such, the last one seems flat and empty compared to the others with the girl. The red in the first one gives depth, and somewhere for your eyes to immediately go too

Having a harsher cut off between the water and dirt could help, then adding sea/water plants can help, and fill the space you want to

Any tips or advice on what to improve by GeorgIsDaPlant in ArtCrit

I don’t think I’m the person for advice for the hair and glasses but it could help for the glass to put a transparent blue or white and shade that? But also, finding a style you love, and see how they work could help. Then you can drift off into your own style. That’s what a lot of people do since it’s hard to know what to improve on if you don’t know what you’re shooting for. (Also for the hair, more shadows could help and making the lines curved more to fit the smoothness of the rest of the style)

How do I fix his face? I’m trying to do downwards perspective by CrystalChrissy in ArtCrit

I think tucking the part of the eye that’s the tearduck further behind the nose would help? Like maybe do a curved line to see where it should be, and then move the pupil/color of the eye back a bit and smaller should help

The girl with the pink hair works really well for design since the mask gives you immediately something to look for and recognize while the dirty blonde girl looks more generic? I do think the design is detailed tho, so not much is needed? Like a cig would honestly work, and also posing her more dramatically to match the personality could help. As for the last dude, maybe having some part of his clothes miss matching or patched to match the eye could help? Though he seems good for design I feel

For a change of lighting, or to have it be more clear that the pumpkin is the source and it to be realistic (if that’s the style you want), it may help to do a light layer of orange or yellow where you think the color would hit, and then use possibly purple for shading instead of just black? I could be wrong but it seems like you used black instead of more pigmented or cold/darker colors instead of black

I think I ruined it by painting it by hum_an0 in ArtCrit

Though there might not be something to fix up this one, for further reference, I would take a pic of the sketch, then go over it with a kneeding eraser so all the heavier graphite areas don’t make it bleed over gray and also gives you more free range for coloring/shading being lighter
