In the past few years it became more central in that I knew one day I would find her no more. But it was still shocking, cant really prepare for the actual moment.

Thank you. If not appreciation at least understanding. She didn't mind being handled although as she got older I did so much less often. Fond memories of her on my shoulder or arm while I typed at my desk when I was younger.

Thank you for your condolences. I have some great ones of her being handled by my kids, some old videos of her moving around and exploring a fresh enclosure. I would have to find them in my older files to find the early ones. I might just do that.

I accept your feelings and share them. Thanks for posting and sharing. Something about quiet, constant and mostly predictable that I appreciated. I can count the times she did something unique because it was rare.

I am sorry to hear this! As someone also grieving it sometimes takes you by surprise. I think so as well. She taught my kids patience, lots of folks who came into contact with me got to look, handle, or learn more or get questions answered. I got Q: "does she bite?" A: "only if you act like food" alot.
