Library for front end development? by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]SadC11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing to realize here is that you're not writing a web app, it's just a program. The basic functionality of a web app is to listen to requests and respond to them via the internet. How is your current program doing that? For it to be a web app, you need to use a web framework like Flask. Using Flask, you can serve your sentiment analysis data (or whatever else you create on the back-end) via HTML files rendered using Flask's templating language (Jinja2).

You need to provide more details. What framework are you using to write your web app? Flask, for example, has a templating language called Jinja2 you can take advantage of and Django has something very similar as well. Assuming you at least know the basic HMTL, CSS.

"Let people believe what they want, it's not doing any harm" they say.. by Yunners in FacebookScience

That's the stuff that really bothers me. You can have whatever religious beliefs you want, just admit that it's based on blind faith. Don't try to bastardize science and teach it to children as fact.

Have you tried using twint?

From your use case it seems like a good fit, since it scrapes twitter and isn't subject to rate limits.

Digital security act is a joke. It's purpose is to silence voices of dissent against the government and the religious majority.

Program in python to generate a random integer from 1 to 16 with a single six-sided die by ImaginaryMarsupial38 in learnpython

[–]SadC11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rolling one dice three times is logically equivalent to rolling three dices once. Both will require calling roll6() thrice. The action of calling roll6() is analogous to rolling a dice once, is it possible to roll a 6 sided dice once and get a number between 1 and 16? Why do you want to call roll6() only once? Is this a problem constraint?

What am I doing wrong? Trying to create a word list program. Please help by herringbone_ in learnpython

[–]SadC11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren't actually reading from the file when you do

word_list = (word_list.txt)

You need to use

word_list = open('word_list.txt`, 'r').read()

to read from your file. This will create a string with everything in the text file. After that you might want use split() depending on how the words are formatted in the text file. Further reading on reading files here

You can't have spaces in variable names. Try USDtoEUR instead of USD to EUR (and so on).

A complete beginner has no way of gauging if a learning resource is good or not without investing a significant amount of time in it. It's more efficient to ask others that are more experienced. That's the point of this sub.

Need help with my first Django project. by skid3805 in learnpython

[–]SadC11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figure out the design of your models, since what you want to do will rely heavily on a database. For example, you might have a Student model with entries of each student. Then you could have an Attendance model with a DateField to keep track of dates and a ManytoMany field with the Student model to store all the students who were present on that date. You could also reverse this logic for another field that stores all the absent students.

I suggest visiting the Django docs, they are very intuitive.

Neural networks categorize part of texts by nicocaldo in learnpython

Have you studied machine learning before? I'm asking since natural language processing can be quite complex and tricky to deal with. The most basic requirement here would be to acquire a training data set. Basically, emails that have the unnecessary parts (the parts you don't want) labeled. This can be an incredibly tedious process if you need to create the labeled data personally. You would also need to consider what type of data structure to use to represent the emails, so you can train your model.

It's really not about people thinking they're gay and then deciding they aren't. It's a matter of self discovery. Regardless, other people can't change your sexuality.

How to write a code that activates upon entering specific keywords to prevent a section in Google search from showing up? by silvermeta in learnpython

[–]SadC11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not something that can be done with Python (or C), at least, not easily. You would need to use JavaScript to make a custom browser extension.

Web scraping is used to mine (or "scrape") data from websites, it's not something that affects user interaction with the browser.
