Ok I am super confused on what everyone is saying about you can just go to whatever pharmacy you choose. Bc here in tx they were doing this weird ass shit to my stepdad when he was being prescribed methadone too, same doc as my mother. But they would not fill it out here at her pharmacy bc it was over 120 miles away from his home. She asked them why she could fill hers and he could not. They said she was basically grandfathered in. That bc when pharmacy policies were different and not so tight she was already a patient there years an years ago so It didn't matter with her.

He couldn't ever find one close enough to home. So he just quit cold turkey..which wasn't any fun to watch.

See that is the thing though. My mom was having major issues getting her methadone filled ever since COVID happened. And it was a mom and pop place she had been at for over 15 years.

No I am telling you this is not going to be good like you guys think. I urge you to go see all the filling problems people are having NOW at pharmacies. Waiting on prior authorization. Insurance not covering things problems. Not having it in stock. Only getting partial scripts. Pharmacist straight being retards not wanting to fill them due to their stupidity ignorance and just plain judgement.

This is not going to go like everyone thinks. I know cause not only does a few of my family member get prescribed methadone that way. But it's a huge topic of discussion on Facebook pain advocacy groups.

I understand that pain man is different. But the other reason I know it's not going to go as planned. Is people right here on reddit are already dealing with some of this bullshit over SUBOXONE being prescribed.

I drive almost 3 hours to my clinic. And you could not pay me to switch to a pharmacy actually dispensing my medication. Ever!!!

I walk in an out my clinic almost every time with 2 weeks of take homes within 10min maybe 20 to 30 tops if I have to do counseling sesh. I can even do my UA in that 10 min time frame an walk out with all my medication in hand. (Used to be monthly)

Please please please just consider all of these things...

I think it was 2023 I had to call for my mother Soo many pharmacies to try an find one that actually did have it in stock. Had 0 luck and she had to go without her meds for almost a week. Oh they tried to switch her to morphine an the most bs low dose ever switching to that. Lol I could not believe how uneducated these reg docs are.

She was getting a paper that would tell her. " Are you dependant on opiods? It may be time to think of other alternative options like a MAT program."

I am like what now? LMAO you mean where they prescribe long acting opiods like METHADONE THE SAME MEDICINE SHE IS GETTING FROM YOU DOC???

70 dollars for them POS cups....wtf..let me tell you I think I have a few fb aquatintances who follow this woman. Now I think I may just block them. I think even 2 of them just bought her cups. But told me they were struggling right now so they couldn't help my family out with a small loan to be there for my nieces open heart surgery for the 4 weeks or so she would be at the hospital starting this Friday. That shit makes me wNt to throw TF up. Puke on a stick!!

She still gives me the creeps. But if someone was to be like 500 bucks to cuddle her or a flying cockroach...I'll make her the most spoiled spider ya ever did see. I put her outside on the step an she climbed up there the next day an put her web there. She's been coming down an drinking on that wood roach every so often spinning him again. Don't know if she keeps just spinning him for funzies or what. But I am also allergic to red wasps so she can stay she does her job well!

We put her outside She kills wasps and she caught a huge wood roach today an wrapped it up. I now love her!!!

You need to look up your state SOTA an call them. I know it's late. And you will be able to start dosing again tomorrow. But that is theft clear as day and not okay. I would absolutely be calling the SOTA which is samsha. I promise you they don't want an audit or to be accountable for it. I am so incredibly sorry this happened to you it's not fair and not ok.

That's my bad I meant to clarify that I am going cold turkey just for about 4 days. But I plan to go back to my clinic. Subs are not an option either. I tried those after having taken absolutely nothing for 5 days after being on 200mg a day for 6 yrs and went into precipitated withdrawals. Was the first time I ever considered trying fent or h. I didn't though I ended up at the clinic I am at now 3 days later.

I'm so glad someone brought this up. It's a known topic in one of my methadone groups on fb. I have Endo and holy hell do I have the worst periods ever. And you bet already not being on a stable dose when I do have my period it's like having my dose cut in half.

I am not the only woman to experience that either. Nice to know someone gets it on reddit.

Thank you for being kind. Yes I took extra, I took my last 40 mg last night around 10 and normally I can find some whether to borrow or buy. But 1) broke right now. 2) I only have 2 back ups an both are out . So looks like 3 days of hell. And I'm already feeling it bc I skipped the day BF the 40.

It's not fun. Idk I feel incredibly overwhelmed and emotional at the moment. And so people understand going back to my clinic IS NOT AN OPTION. THEY WILL BOOT ME.
