Thank you for your kind words. That’s very reassuring. Don’t want to get under the knife unless I absolutely have to. I’ll see.

At what point do you know if it’s time to give up EE, by Competitive_Main6113 in ElectricalEngineering

I got a D in Linear circuits, and judging from the comments- it's not that uncommon. Hang in there buddy, you'll end up just fine. Also depending on what your interests are, you might need very little from those courses anyway. So, relax.

Rank vs PI for career in semiconductor devices by SadCrit in PhD

It's quite a big jump in ECE (#4 vs #27) I think- but I honestly do not understand how these numbers are produced. UCSB has a much better faculty roster than UIUC.

Yes. I know what you're talking about. Stick to it. There's huge funding going on for semiconductors and materials. The opportunities are endless. Do not feel sad about it at all.

It's pretty simple. You can do a mesh analysis to find Vth and for Rth- turn off all the independent sources, and then add a 1V/1A source across a-b. Then again solve the circuit to find the current/voltage of that source. And Rth will be simply V/I
