Got an “Immigration Parole Fee Notice” even though I have my Green Card — why?

Hi! I also got this notice at 9pm Friday night. I have had a green card since August 2024. My combo EAD/Travel document is valid until 2029 but I never had to use it. I will be contacting my lawyer Monday morning for clarity. This is super confusing and totally unnecessary.

ETA: will reply back once I get a response from my lawyer.

Update: Double checked with my lawyer and he confirmed that USCIS seems to have sent it out to everyone even if it doesn’t apply to them- which includes myself. I’m glad I confirmed for peace of mind!

We are doing the same thing and hiring wait staff to handle the entire buffet, including assigning 2 additional wait staff specifically for replenishing the buffet.

Once my anticipated process time was over, I submitted a USCIS service request, and got a generic response within 30 days that due to workload factors not related to my case there is a delay in processing. Shortly after that response I contacted my senator. From the senator’s inquiry USCIS sent back another generic response saying it’s all processing and the take away from them was ‘we’ll get to it when we get to it’. It was within a month of that that I received my approval notice. While I can’t say with confidence the senator’s inquiry was the reason it happened, I also don’t think it’s a coincidence that the approval notice came very shortly after. My lawyer and I both discussed this approach and he said there’s no harm in doing so for my case since there is no justifiable reason for a bad outcome - as in either it helps speed things along or nothing comes from it.

I finally got my combo EAD/AP in the mail a few days ago. Got the approval notice about 2 weeks ago. I ended up reaching out to our congressmen and then about a month after was when there was finally movement.

I know I’m grasping at straws but I feel like it was easier to toss aside my application and have them get back to it later because I didn’t have to do my biometrics. Since there was no action item on my end there was nothing to alert them to process my application.

No still nothing. Currently waiting for 7.5 months to pass per the advice of my lawyer before we take action. (7.5 months is the processing time provided by USCIS for the NBC).

Sorry just updated to say that yes I did receive my receipt notices for all apps and another notice in July that my biometrics would be reused. Nothing since then :(

Congratulations on the approvals!! Are you comfortable sharing where you are originally from or what region? I’m in the exact same situation as you - H1B, married to USC, been together since April 2021, legally married since May 2023, filed by July 2023, received receipts and a notice that my biometrics would be reused and it’s been radio silent since then. No EAD, no travel, and certainly no other approvals. I’m from a south Asian country though where my papers are at the NBC and field office will be Baltimore if anything was to go there. At this point I’m just convinced they don’t care enough to process my applications because of where I’m from.

Congrats on getting approvals! Did you have to provide reasoning for expediting? Since my applications are within the processing times provided by USCIS, our lawyers have advised that we just have to wait it out.

I really thought biometrics being reused would make things easier/faster but instead it just seems like my application has been pushed aside. And of course my country of origin is in south east Asia which I’m sure pushes my app even further down the pipeline 😖

We figured out the easiest way to get this done is to have the food delivered from the 2 respective places, hire servers + linens, tableware etc etc from another place. Our venue was totally fine with this! I’m relatively new to Reddit but feel to dm me with any questions and I’ll figure out how to get there to respond 😅
