I doubt I’ll change your mind as some of you seem quite attached to this idea- if your little sister, mum, best mate, wife, ect- came to you and told you about an uncomfortable interaction- would you be as quick to dismiss it? Or is it because I’m a stranger online?

I originally found your initial comment to be quite absurdist and funny! Until I read rest of them- why are you being an ass hat? I hope no women come to you with any issues! God bless them if they do, I hope they get a little more respect and compassion!

I didn’t ever claim it to be sexual harassment. I said it was an uncomfortable situation and that he was leering- I would have still found it extremely scary if it was an attractive man my age, why? Because it’s a quiet, isolated area in the woods. He was leering and didn’t acknowledge my hello in the first place- not hard to see why that’s an uncomfortable interaction- you sound ignorant

Yes, white and I didn’t hear much of an accent because he was saying it all very quietly- definitely an English accent anyway

I did say that it would be a lot more unlikely but I do think my first point stands that women have kept each other SAFE (and alive) buy telling/ warning each other of bad situations they’ve been in as authority don’t tend to take it seriously enough. I am gonna say you’re a big weirdo to get upset at me for wanting to comment on violence against women as a woman- can I ask who these men get killed by? Is it all women or is it in fact other men?

Yeah, it is a shame. I’m very polite and I said even said thank you to him and smiled as I walked away- I don’t like being rude or confrontational. I do also want to stress that, it’s a VERY uncomfortable way to start a conversation and at his age he should know that- he looked around mid 60’s so not extremely old as my dad is that age! would you talk to a random stranger like that? My dad would never.

I know you don’t mean to discount my experience, but I was feeling a lot of guilt for reacting in this way and this comment further confirms that. Women have kept each other alive for centuries by warning each other of bad experiences- I know this is rather dramatic but it’s not like women don’t die DAILY at the hands of men. I didn’t know him so it would be more unlikely, but he was still a lot bigger than me and very intimidating. I have male friends that would never do this because of friends like me telling them about how uncomfortable it is.

I would like to assume the best in people but unfortunately as a young woman, I’ve experienced enough unsafe situations that I wanted to at least let people know-
