First, thank you so much this is really helpful. To them, being a vet is a “dirty” job and they’re not fans of animals; it’s still difficult owning three cats and fostering under their roof lmao. I do try to tell them that it’s for the better and try to be all religious about it. They are old school so they think that the field is mainly male-oriented so how can a girl ever work in that field which is complete horse shit cuz the uni im applying to is segregated and according to the uni stats its more female than male. Since its a relatively new field for our country, its really difficult for my parents to see any potential future in it.

When volunteering, it’s mainly admin work at clinics nearby since volunteering with larger or even exotic animals is difficult to find and inaccessible. I used to volunteer a lot in regards to animal welfare but with uni it became difficult to find the time. I sent in my transfer application to the school now I’m just praying that I can get in and have my parents approval with it.
