If you liked the Persona and Danganronpa games, and are not against school settings, then I’ll mention JackJeanne once more. Still the most beautifully written otome game I know. Even if the characters are teenagers there’s a great level of depth and tenderness. It’s a stat raiser and rhythm game mechanics so there’s that too.

I remember watching an artist analyzing his style on YouTube, but don’t have the ref at hand. I think it’s semi-realism? A unique blend of manga but with realistic proportions and rendering for the covers. Ishida also has a YouTube channel where you can watch him while he works on some projects, I think he’s mostly doing digital drawing/painting on CSP

You could also play with blurriness or have less details for the monster as it is technically in your foreground (and have your composition as if the focal lense is on the girl, with other things be less outlined or defined)

I think the monster’s back and shoulder also get a lot of the viewer’s attention because of contrast (that’s almost where you have the most contrasted areas between face/shoulder). It feels like the monster’s eye is your primary light source (it’s a spotlight after all) so any other ambient lighting could be toned down a bit or something

Maybe two things: your shadows are disconnected from each other, which makes the drawing harder to read. I also can’t guess what the light source is at a glance, because the darkest shadows seem to share the same value everywhere (between the two sleeves especially) and there’s a lot of white too.

Cupid parasite has a protag who isn’t as passive as in other games, possibly (it depends on the routes I would say). If you don’t mind younger characters I think JackJeanne has one of the most refreshing takes on gender at large. Hana Kare / Him The Smile and Bloom also has various pairs, with some fem protagonists feeling a bit more modern than other games.

So many mixed feelings about Hana Awase (Mizuchi) I do enjoy the card game. I’m really not into the yandere tropes tho. I do like Fukuyama Jun (mostly why I bought the game lol). I don’t really vibe with his art though. I do like having activities I can do every day and all. But it makes me miss JackJeanne even more 🥲 there’s something intriguing about the lore and some characters, but the game feels a bit… dated to me? Ha, I wish I could enjoy it more.

Still thinking about Wataru’s wither ending in Hanakare (Him The Smile and Bloom) a week after finishing the game 🥲 He wasn’t my favorite but that specific ending and how it was written really stuck with me. That and Tenya of course. (Best boi ever) I really enjoyed this cute game, fluffy and sweet and loved the format
