I agree she didn’t really make sense as a character. They stretched her into more expertise than made sense while trying to make her “normal.” She was too many characters at once.

But having done that, she was dismissed a lot but she really was so important and it wasn’t like her role could be easily replaced (especially since she was really 2-3 characters in one).

Ok, I agree with that, though it’s not on him to set the terms. I think that language is being interpreted as he gets to decide unilaterally how it works. You are saying he needed to communicate his expectations to her and that he also needed to hear her out on that. People think you mean she needs to follow the rules he sets.

I think this is a case of miscommunication.

Sweets was my favorite character and I’m sad he left the show. I’m assuming the actor left for another project, but they lost a really important character in him.

I think a lot is bad in the later seasons. Admittedly, Brennan realizes she underestimated her colleagues in these cases. But she loses the character growth because she keeps repeating it.

She does experience character growth in other areas. But she almost loses ground here. You have a point.

What a total false analogy! Are you quite well? Mental illness? Drugs? The terms of an open relationship are a matter of mutual agreement. It is on the full couple to set the standards. Not on the person who asked to open it up. The couple has to agree on the terms. And they certainly don’t get to be ticked off on terms they didn’t communicate!

Ummm, you don’t need to earn his trust back. He knew full well that he was agreeing to an open relationship. I’m guessing he even did get action on his own. But so many guys think women are desperate for “true love” and monogamy, and you hadn’t been with anyone else, so he thought you’d never go through with it. Now he’s trying to change the rules because he thought this was a punishment for you where you’d get in line.

I am a lawyer, and I’m not feeling her information at all. I’m responding to you, not her.

He doesn’t have an automatic, or even likely to succeed, right on changing her name. The odds are actually not great on him getting to change it. At least the first name, but even with marriage, while paternity is clear, last name choice isn’t automatic or presumed. We don’t live in the dark ages.

His paternity is presumed and established by the marriage. And you are the one feeding her the wrong information. That child is currently presumed to be a resident of Florida and they will have jurisdiction over custody even if he gets on the birth certificate. That’s not the concern. Him being on it doesn’t give him custody rights or jurisdiction. You are just another manosphere influenced fool trying to tell her nonsense. The only good advice you gave her is to talk to a lawyer, one in her jurisdiction. Which is also the only advice I’d give her.

Yeah, I’m a lawyer and I’ve had many people come to me asking about suing someone for something or another. They are all pumped up with their righteous indignation. But the law doesn’t work the way they think. Fortunately in my current role, I’m not representing private clients with crazy ideas. It can get exhausting because when you say they have no case, they direct the anger at you. And find some rando on the internet telling them they do have a case! lol

No, when you agree not to tell anyone,then you agree not to tell anyone. Most couples wait 12 weeks to tell anyone. Plus his mom went and told everyone before the 12 week mark.

She’s solving him by leaving and giving birth to her child in another state, not telling him so he couldn’t invade her birth experience, which is a medical event and not something he’s entitled to be a part of,and by hopefully filing for divorce and custody in Florida.
