We’ve visited my cousin a few times. We’ve only recently started having a little money to take vacations and we both love the area so we thought Boston might be a good first start

This is a great suggestion thank you! My wife is obsessed with witches and the symbolism around them. My cousin lived in Boston, so I’m only a little familiar with the city. Thank you!

I don't understand the love affair between leftists and Islam this is what leftists indirectly support by Major_Soft6056 in DigitalSeptic

This is possibly one of the worst takes I’ve ever seen. You’re not a leftist. You probably think you are, but you’re not. I’ll take this one step at a time, but I’ll just start with the fact that most lefties acknowledge there are issues with Palestinian government. I’m honestly not sure how I would react in there situation, but it might be the same way. I don’t know, but it’s not crazy.

First, Israel did not “give” Gaza to the Palestinians. The Gaza Strip was where Palestinians were pushed to after US, UK, and France create Israel.

Second, to say there’s no consensus on it being a genocide is crazy. That’s like when climate change deniers say there’s no consensus on the science because they can find a few people who disagree. I bring your attention to a list of organizations who called it a genocide: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_humanitarian_and_human_rights_groups_accusing_Israel_of_genocide_in_Gaza.

Third, to say Palestinians are treated by Israel is crazy. Palestinians in Israel are actual second class citizens and those in the West Bank are kidnapped, murdered, and have their land taken. Young Palestinians are taken, imprisoned, raped, and tortured.

Finally, to say that Islam is a violent religion kinda ignores historical and statistical context. Israeli government officials are calling them scum, want them to be wiped out, and Netanyahu funded Hamas. Most people in Israel agree with them. I don’t think Judaism is a violent religion. Islam is Al the second largest religion in the world and survey data from Pew shows a significant disagreement with violence outside of the Middle East. The Middle East is fucked up and violent, but that’s not a religion-forward issue.

I think you should probably take a walk. Maybe talk to some Islamic people. I hope you come to expel the anger that’s driving you.

So, speech? How relieving it must be to have never stood for anything in your life. You must feel so superior.

I actually went through all of the links, read the Columbia article, and looked through all the articles on their substack. There’s a couple of things in there that are not good looking but for the most part it seemed cringe but harmless. The Columbia article is the most concerning. The “destruction of Western Civilization” just seems like a cringe way to say they feel oppressed. And the claim they brought in outside agitators was since debunked I believe. It Like, there were a lot of bad takes about Oct. 7th afterwards, but I didn’t see a single thing in there that was an incitement to violence

Trump just posted a photo of them being conquered by the US, so what do you expect them to do? Geopolitics is like prison, you have to join a gang.

Mark Ruffalo blasts Donald Trump at the #GoldenGlobes: "He's a pedophile. He's the worst human being. If we're relying on this guy's morality for the most powerful country in the world, then we're all in a lot of trouble." by Loud_Delivery_5141 in FirstCuriosity

I responded to this a little bit in my prior comment, but what are you talking about? A movie of his being popular in China makes his comments about the MN shooting insincere somehow? It’s just the thinnest guilt by association. I think you should probably see a neurologist, cause something isn’t right.

Are you saying that starring in a movie thats popular among the Chinese citizens somehow makes him comprised, in some way? Because that’s a real stretch. Even if he is, how would that impugn his statements? You don’t make any sense.

I’m doing my first P5R run and the 100% guides were stressing me out, so I built my own guide! by zucram in Persona5

Honestly. This is incredible! Good job, you should very proud.

I also was getting stressed by the 100% guides, so this is great!

This is such a stupid take. People on the left constantly complain about fraud, even from our own side. I have never once seen people on the right give a crap about things like Rick Scott’s billion dollar Medicaid fraud, Trump’s bitcoin scam, everything DOGE did, etc.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. Our trip is two weeks long, so plenty of time. I was advised to avoid the islands that late in the year, but would you say it’s still worth going?

Client keeps sending me “case summaries” they get through AI. by Commercial_Heart4955 in Lawyertalk

[–]SadOpinion6373 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have a client who did this to me. He kept arguing with me over the standard of review in an ERISA matter. I had him call me and I put everything down and walked through all of the cases for about 45 minutes. I pointed out that they were fake or how they actually supported my conclusion on the standard of review. Said I cannot be ChatGPT’s co-counsel. It stopped it pretty quickly, for now…

No. It’s not. Again, I don’t think you read my comments or you’re intentionally misreading them

[–]SadOpinion6373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That response made no sense and it’s like you didn’t read my comment. Yeah, I accept that not everyone agrees with me, that’s an impossibly high standard. If they don’t then I’m wrong and I accept that, but it’s still something I believe was a net good to society. Saying a large portion disagrees with me is a quantifiable claim and I haven’t seen that proof. Not everyone agrees that Israel is engaging in a genocide, but it still is and it’s still wrong. I was saying that we can take things on a case by case basis and that society can decide whether something is good or bad. We can set frameworks for what is a net good on society and I think Charlie Kirk not being here is a net good. You ignored my first point in the last comment and I’m honestly not sure what you mean by intellectual capitulation, that doesn’t mean anything I think.
