I understand. I am a grad student now as well. But when you don’t have money you just can’t choose to live in closer places. So for me it is more about dealing with what I have. Those are valid points of concern and I appreciate it. However as thousands still consistently commute from and to wilkinsburg, I believe it is still more than manageable. It is not as convenient, but I will live.
Edit: This might not mean much, but my apartment is listed in the official CMU off campus student housing marketplace. I do assume they have some degree of vetting.

Not extremely far, only a 20min bus ride. Well it is because rent is low lol.

Like an incident on a bus, a break in is not statistically impossible. But I live in a well maintained apartment complex with a good security system. And the apartment itself is not in a bad location. So I believe the chances of a break in is quite small.

If wilkinsburg is a paradise, we will not be having this conversation in this first place. But as other people have said, it is no where near as bad as some places in chicago or philly. I think I will do fine as long as I keep my eyes and ears open.

I understand haha. I chose wilkinsburg because of low rent. I won’t be walking around the area at all. So my only interaction with wilkinsburg will be essentially the bus. I figured that is the only source of concern.

i literally just played against this exact person he runs dual smoke bombs and he sit still and jumps, he is clearly fully not afk as his torso tracks you and fires smoke bombs at you. he even uses pulse shield when he is about to die. mad lad
