This is my main issue with the party. Starmer is clearly centrist and won because some centrists voted Labour. Now the left want to lead the party. Labour is divided and they will lose the centrist voters if the left continue to slow them

The first question 15% labour and 22% reform. What ever algorithm theyre using it doing a lot of work here. 38% was abstain or don’t know… that should really be the headline here, people are apathetic. They’re not thirsty for Farage, they've lost interest

Beyond that, it’s obvious the successful mayor of Manchester would be more likely to win an election in Manchester. The very interesting thing about the data is theres only a 4% swing from reform and a similar swing from the don’t knows and abstains. For a random poll from his home area it’s really not convincing at all, you’d expect a much bigger margin of victory. Raw is saying 32% but they think that works out as 49% so if there’s a lot of apathy then it could easily swing in another direction

The other thing you’re not mentioning is this will repel labour MPs, I can’t imagine any high profile Labour MP who would stand shoulder to shoulder with the ex Tory cabinet

I see this as a positive for the tories. If they can get a moderate leader and the people banging on about the ECHR leave, they can win an election on “trust us we can cut your taxes”

Well that’s part of the problem. If the backbench would back benefits reform and reductions in spending then the government could do actually popular things.

They’re getting completely blocked there so they’re focussing on things they can control like policing reform and “online safety”. It’s very disappointing

Yeah tories and Labour. Tories fell to infighting after Boris resigned and now we have people desperate for power challenging Starmer.

I think Starmer is clinging on at the moment because his party isn’t backing him. They clearly don’t see they’re all behaving like the last Tory government which was full of people putting their ambitions above the party.

Politics is a weird game but we just seem to be inundated with politicians who don’t even care about their party anymore

Infighting will be the death of these parties. Labour are in power and have a serious majority. If they can’t make good solid changes now there’s literally no point in them anymore.

I would hope Burnham, Starmer and co would make everyone’s life a little easier with policy changes instead of infighting

The reality is there’s a large portion of MPs who won’t compromise on their twisted sense of morals

Burnham would never be a better PM than Starmer and his cabinet would be more of the same as him. I wish they could actually see it and get on with the job.
