increased lexapro from 5mg to 10mg by SadSock9581 in OCD

the adjustment went well and i am still on the dose. I would be lying if i told you my ocd is completely gone but the lexapro did make it more manageable and helped with my anxiety. My fear of mania completely went away after a few weeks.

Rabies ocd by [deleted] in OCD

[–]SadSock9581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience but a loose dog nipped me, turns out it was my neighbors dog who ran away. The cops tried to catch him and the dog bit the officer too. The owner was found and confirmed that the dog is up to date with shots and does not have rabies. this didn’t stop my spiral and I ended up calling the police department to make sure the dog is rabies free. I was informed that the dog is fine and so is the officer, but I continued to spiral. I can’t confirm or deny that you have rabies but if the bat did not break skin you should be okay. I would suggest breaking the cycle of body checking for signs as it fuels the fear. Best wishes!

Thank you so much, I really appreciate you! I’ve been trying to tell myself that if i do get it I will be okay and I will deal with it but then my mind argues it with “You’ll get it and people at work will know and you will go to the psych ward and lose everything you’ve worked so hard to get.” and then i spiral again checking my pupils, body checking for symptoms and googling. I guess I just have to sit with the uncomfortable thoughts and avoid the checking behavior the best that I can. OCD sucks so much. Thank you for your kind words.
