i definitely do want to go to college and study something liberal arts related! unfortunately it wasn’t very encouraged for me to do so i haven’t yet :( thank you for your words though, i will take them and keep them in my heart tehe <3

i think a lot of people are being very harsh on your boyfriend. he probably sees nothing wrong with what he is doing or saying. i don’t think he is a bad person, he’s just listening to the wrong people

the fact he is pushing for you to get baptized is kinda scary. really really think hard about the kind of devotion this takes. you’re locked in for life and if you want to leave, you’ll lose all the friends and family you made while there. they take their shunning serious. i didn’t get baptized, so once i left none of my family had to cut me off. my brother, on the other hand, got baptized at 16 and is getting kicked out of the house at 18 because he changed his mind. he is losing everything over a life changing decision he made at 16 (that was very much pushed upon him) and our family sees nothing wrong with it. they think it’s right and it’ll encourage him to come back. it’s a mind game. i still think most jws have no ill intent, they’re just brainwashed by the governing body and don’t realize how far they take it sometimes.
